Today is Monday, which means we are talking about needlework. Have a nice day (evening), dear girls, needlewomen! 🌼 😘
I really hope that all is well with you during this turbulent time. Yes, the year of the coronavirus has been a tough year: many changes 😥 Our work used to be anywhere but not at home. And this year we worked from home all the time. This means more energy and time for yourself. What to do in your free time when there is more of it? Yes, I know, you know the answer! 😁 Of course, do needlework!
Today I will show you one of my works from this period. I knitted a jacket.
I liked the combination of colors: brown and pink. The pink color enlivens the brown color and the product looks more festive. I wanted to use a jacquard pattern, and not just knit with a straight line of transition to another color. I liked the bottom line, but ....! I made a mistake (here I cry hard) 😭
I thought my butt (sorry girls) was smaller. This is a joke!!! 😅 I did not take into account that the jacquard pattern does not stretch like a regular knit. It was insulting !!!
I had to make unplanned incisions on the sides. When I imagined that I needed to unravel everything and knit the jacket again, I felt sick. And I decided to leave it as it is.
I added some pink beads to the edges of the triangles. It is not visible in the photo, but it looks very gentle: it shimmers a little. And in general, despite my mistake, I am satisfied with my jacket.
I'm sure you've had a very productive week! 🌺
Красивая вещица, правда не мой фасон))
нет, не твой))))) спасибо!
I was just about to say the colours blend so well before you mentioned it. It's a beautiful cozy sweater and that unplanned slit looks like it was part of the plan.
Many thanks, my dear! I will tell everyone that this is by design 😂 Have a nice day!!!🌹
Wow, this is a beautiful sweater! I love the big buttons you have on it.
Thank you!!!! 😃
The cardigan is amazing!!!! It has puff sleeves and one of my favorite color combos: pink and brown. This is such a lovely work (did you sew the sleeves in or did you use a top-down technique?) ANd with the slit: so clever! I think I would have despaired... Now the fit is perfect as it showcases your small waist. Really lovel cardigan.
Oh, thanks for the compliment, my dear! You are very kind! To be honest, I always get very upset when I make mistakes like this. I need to fight the perfectionism inside me. I knitted this from the bottom up and embroidered the sleeves. I don’t have the courage to try knitting from top to bottom, how amazing you can knit!
I am exactly the other way round, knitting top down seams so much easier for me (because I can try the cardigan on during knitting). I am fairly sure knitting a top down raglan cardigan would be no problem at all for you. The only downsides for raglan cardigans are that the project is heavier to carry as you always carry the whole cardigan not only the fronts or sleeve etc and that the neckline can be a bit low at the back (but there are techniques to change it by using short rows... but I never tried).
And I feel you on the perfectionism... I always admire things other people do, but mostly am in doubt about the things I make myself. But be assured this brown/pink cardigan is really lovely!!! I think you could write a pattern and put it on Ravelry, as it is so trendy right now with the puff sleeves <3 <3
Beautifully done!
Thank you!!!!
Wow This is so nice, am still pleading that someone should show me this how this knitting is been done i will cry ooo😞😭
