Today we are going to talk about the ram the male sheep or its scientific name Ovis orientalis aries. And yes, today while writing this post I understood the reason why the first sign of the zodiac is called Aries.
The male ram - female sheep, is a domestic ruminant mammal used as livestock and I'm sure many of us have eaten the delicious sheep meat in a stew, roast or in any way you can imagine.
Now, we also associate it with bedtime, or don't you remember when you were a child and couldn't sleep. I'm sure someone told you to count sheep! and I imagine you right now counting one sheep, two sheep, three sheep ... a hundred sheep and you still couldn't fall asleep.
And although in fables they are associated with goodness and meekness. They are also associated with weakness or submission; but for me the best association is that of "Black Sheep", and it is nothing more than the implication of being different in a "homogeneous" family group.
For a family a black sheep is that rebellious person, who does not adapt and does not follow the family customs, so he is the object of criticism; but at the same time he is the object of change in the family and all change is good.
Now, the reason for my sweet little sheep is that I wanted to represent my zodiac sign "Aries", the male of the sheep. It turns out that the first sign of the zodiac is represented by the ram.
But come on, I'm female Ariana, so I might as well take off my cheeks and represent myself as a sweet sheep with the energy of the first sign of the zodiac.
According to the horoscope those born under the sign Aries are people brimming with energy and enthusiasm; adventurous, who love freedom, challenges and new ideas and yes, I accept it, the horoscope has some general truths about me.
MATERIALS
- Black and white cotton yarn
- Wool with degraded colors.
- Pastel pink chalk
- Crochet needle N° 2
- Wool needle
- Anti-allergic stuffing
PROCEDURE
To make the body and head I used the popcorn stitch click here to see the video of the stitch, on Youtube. I made increases and decreases as my knitting required. I don't use patterns only images to make the amigurumi, so I have no idea how many stitches I used.
As for the legs and arms. Using half stitches I started with a magic ring of 5 chains and the first 5 rounds I did with the color gradient yarn to make the shape of the legs, from then on I continued with white yarn to represent the body.
The circles under the eyes and the face were made with half stitches in white yarn. I made increases and decreases as I considered so that the amigurumi was balanced.
Finally I filled in the arms, legs and head and with the help of the wool needle I joined all the parts together. I embroidered the eyes and nose and with the help of a cotton swab I put the pink chalk on the cheeks and nose.

Hoy vamos a hablar del carnero el macho de la oveja o su nombre científico Ovis orientalis aries. Y si, hoy mientras escribía este post entendí la razón del por qué el primer signo del zodiaco se llama Aries.
El carnero macho – oveja hembra, es un mamífero rumiante doméstico usado como ganado y estoy segura que muchos de nosotros hemos comido la deliciosa carne de oveja en un estofado, asado o de cualquier forma que te puedas imaginar.
Ahora bien, también la asociamos con la hora de dormir, o no te acuerdas cuando eras niña y no podías dormir. Estoy segura que alguien te dijo cuenta ovejas! y te imagino en este momento contando una oveja, dos ovejas, tres ovejas … cien ovejas y todavía no te podías quedar dormida.
Y aunque en las fábulas se les asocia a la bondad y mansedumbre. También se les asocia a la debilidad o sumisión; pero para mí la mejor asociación es el de “Oveja Negra”, y no es más que la implicación de ser diferente en un grupo familiar “homogéneo”
Para una familia una oveja negra es esa persona rebelde, que no se adapta y no sigue las costumbres familiares, por lo que es objeto de críticas; pero al mismo tiempo es objeto de cambios en la familia y todo cambio es bueno.
Ahora bien, la razón de mi dulce ovejita es que quise representar mi signo zodiacal “Aries”, el macho de la oveja. Resulta que el primer signo del zodiaco está representado por el carnero.
Pero vamos, soy mujer Ariana, así que mejor me quito los cachos y me represento como una dulce oveja con la energía del primer signo del zodiaco.
De acuerdo al horóscopo los nacidos bajo el signo Aries son personas rebosantes de energía y entusiasmo; aventureras, que adoran la libertad, los retos y las nuevas ideas y si, lo acepto, el horóscopo tiene algunas verdades generales sobre mí.
MATERIALES
- Hilo algodón color Blanco y negro
- Lana con colores degradados.
- Tiza pastel color rosado
- Aguja crochet N° 2
- Aguja Lanera
- Relleno antialérgico
PROCEDIMIENTO
Para hacer el cuerpo y la cabeza utilicé el punto popcorn pincha aquí para ver el video del punto, en Youtube. Hice aumentos y disminuciones según requirió mi tejido. Te cuento que no utilizo patrones solo imágenes para hacer el amigurumi, así que no tengo ni idea cuantos puntos utilice.
En cuanto a las piernas y brazos. Utilizando medio puntos comencé con un anillo mágico de 5 cadenetas y las primeras 5 vueltas las hice con la lana de color degradado para hacer la forma de las patas, de ahí en adelante continúe con hilo color blanco que representa el cuerpo.
Las ojeras y la cara las hice con medio puntos en hilo color blanco. Hice aumentos y disminuciones según consideré para que el amigurumi quedara equilibrado.
Finalmente rellene los brazos, piernas y cabeza y con ayuda de la aguja lanera uní todas las partes. Bordé los ojos y la nariz y con ayuda de un hisopo coloqué la tiza color rosado en las mejillas y nariz.
