Big and Little Knitting Projects for Winter 2022

Who Doesn’t Have Several Projects Going at Once?

Hello, everyone. As I am knitting a sweater coat, repairing my daughter’s blanket shawl, I decided to make a swatch for a second pair of leg warmers. Can you relate?

Here you see the well used leg warmers and the little swatch I knit up last night. I wanted the leg warmers to be a little more stretchy with the current wool yarn I am using so instead of the knit, purl, repeat in the round with double pointed needles, I went with the knit, knit, purl, purl, repeat ribbing for this pair.

In the pictures provided, it is hard to see much of the pattern except the basic shape of the sweater coat. Funny thing, I had intended on knitting something different from this book, but I thought I would try something a little more practical for daily life in the country.

As you can see there is some detail work that was not visible in the photos. Not a problem for me, just a funny aside.

Here’s the finished (finally) blanket shawl that I will be sending back to my daughter. It was a depressing sight to see the work I had done and then the holes I needed to repair. Oh well. Better to have something used than not. I had to do some repair work on my leg warmers as well this week but I caught it right away so it was easy.

Thanks for stopping by. I need to check the fire in the wood burning stove and get to knitting. Take care and God bless!

You're doing fine! Saved the duvet!!! I love leggings too. then show us for sure when you finish it

Thanks! I may have to do a little more reinforcing with the blanket. And yes, I will definitely show what happens with my legwarmers project. :-) My other pair have been used quite a bit in the last few years, so I need at least a second pair before these wear out.
