My submission for MyPhotoDay.

On Tuesday my dad and I took my Mom some of her personal things to hospital. The hospital is about 25km from where we live in the coastal town of Margate, Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa.

Margate is a very popular holiday destination. We haven't been to the beach much as our beaches are closed since the lockdown. So my dad and I enjoyed this excursion.

That is Margate's main beach now abandoned due to the Lockdown. Luckily there was no cops in sight.

Margate has lots of hotels and holiday apartments along the beachfront.

It was a beautiful blue sky almost no wind day and we decided to walk along the beach on the paved pathway.

The main beach from above. You are allowed to walk on the paths just not allowed on the beach itself. Makes no sense. 🤷

Another photo from above showing the sandy beach and some more Hotels along the north side of the beach.

The town build a big sturdy pier for the fishermen as it is also a very popular fishing spot.

It's winter in South Africa now and in winter the fish most caught is Shad. Not a very big fish but a nice pan sized fish. Unfortunately I did not got a photo of a Shad. You can see some of the fisherman below the pier, still preparing to fish.

So my Dad and I went up the pier to admire the beautiful Ocean some more. I asked him to pose for a picture.

I love to take photos of the waves and the water splashing over the rocks and I made use of the beautiful weather to took some more pics.

We went off the pier to admire another landmark in winter, the Aloes blooming.

These ones just started to Bloom, they will be more beautiful in a few days.

These ones were more open. How beautiful against the backdrop of the ocean.
With that our time outside was over, it served us as a great stress reliever.

All photos were taken with my SamsungA10.

Terrible to see Margate beach so empty and abandoned, absolutely ridiculous that we're not allowed to go there!

Thank you for stopping by. Yes not even one person. I read in a news article that the public will not be allowed to partake in the Sardine run. Good luck to the government on that one.

Beautiful photographs. Love to be in such places.

Hey, yes we are blessed. Thank you for stopping by.

Thanks to you too

I miss the sea, the closest one is at 800km away, Black sea in one direction or at Greece in other direction. Would love to travel in some exotic places and to take a lot of photos. You are lucky to have it so close to you

Yes, we are very lucky. We were living almost 1000km from the sea. 8 Years ago we decided to pack up and come live here.

Sad to see no one around there! The whole lock down....well that is for another time on what I think about that so I'll move on!

You say winter? What kind of temps do you have there in winter. There is no short wearing here in America in the winter!

Hehe yes winter. This region is sub-tropical. Normally 15 deg C in the morning and 22-24 deg by midday. But we are getting a bit colder this past week 9-11. But it's only here rest of the country goes to -7 and about 15-18 deg midday. (I used to live there) Moved here 8 years ago. Winter for us mostly just mean we won't be swimming still very moderate temperatures.
