It was late Sunday afternoon and I was driving on California Interstate 5.
The dark clouds were rolling in and quickly covering the sky.
Siri was on my iPhone providing directions to go back home, and I thought I'd interrupt her to take this shot.
As I expected, it started to rain!
I do enjoy driving in a little rain. But I've not really been out under thick clouds as this!
With only a thin layer of light on the horizon, it became so dark. Thick and dark clouds totally covered the entire sky and appeared so low, engulfing, and closing up on me, that it made me feel anxious because I was still 30 miles to my destination!
How relieved I was, even as I took this final photo of the fury of the dark storm clouds that loomed over the fields... because finally I was just a mile from the safety of my home.

I wish that I was able to that a video (but I was driving!) to show how quickly the clouds were covering the sky. The high winds (not as felt from the ground) must have been strong above. I am glad that you love these photos. I appreciate your comment, sweet @thekittygirl 🥰🌺🤙

What a cool serie sof photos catchign the drama in the sky
as fr rain I don't mind it for the most part when driving, except when its so heavy its hard to see, or that light rain just to much for no wipers, and to little for wipers on even the slow intermittent speed LOL

I was just glad I had my iPhone to capture some of the "drama". Yes, it was dramatic, and I was truly nervous, I just did not want to say so. I was glad that the heavy downpour of rain occurred when I was at home and not while I was on the road.
