Newstead Park, Queensland, Australia.
This is the entry to "MyPictureDay Photography Contest" run by @timsaid and sponsored by @blocktrades and @theycallmedan.
The name of this beautiful park relates to historic Newstead House which was built in 1846 and is said to have derived its name from the old Scottish term for a 'New Place or Building,' thought to have been built by Andrew Petrie for the prominent explorer and pastoralist, Patrick Leslie.
The house was later purchased and extended by Captain John C. Wickham RN.
Although Newstead House is a central feature of this park, its picturesque surroundings are an amateur photographers dream with its mature trees, attractive flower beds, beautifully manicured lawns, interesting monuments, and to top that off, the Brisbane river meanders along its perimeters bringing added dimensions with a variety of floating vessels and of course, the wonderful birdlife.
I hope you will enjoy My Picture Day.
The camera I used for these images is a Panasonic DMC-FZ70
