RE: Trustless ekosystém

in Česky!last month

Someone already wrote somewhere that due to the 13-week process of removing Hive from staking, even the misuse of keys is not like in other crypto currencies, on wallets and exchanges, where is everything at the moment?
If I understood what I read correctly, if someone tried to "steal" my Hive, I would have time to try to save it?

Of course, whoever permanently loses the keys and the possibility of logging in to BC, that's the end of the story forever. Or is there a possibility of some recovery?

Well, someone can change your keys if your master key is compromised. And so can you.

Recovery is possible, to certain extend. Mind the recovery account bound to your account (@appreciator in your case), and then use this tool (or a similar one): https://hivetasks.com/account-recovery

I hope that I will never need it and that my keys are safe 🙂
But it's worth having the information.
Thank you

My pleasure :)

Consider changing the recovery account to another one, though. Either another one you control, or of someone you know in person and trust. It's generally wiser than having a general recovery account like this.

Either another one you control

If I were to use an account that I would control as a recovery account, does that account have to be active, that is, do I need to use it regularly?

You can simply create a new account, print the keys and save it someplace in a safe or so, so that you don't have them in the same Keychain, or even laptop as the ones of the main account. It can be any account, no need to use it at all. I would only leave it with a bit of HP or some resource credits delegated, just to play it safe.
