Panning - one of the techniques that are gladly applied in street photography, it is simple and practical.

If you want to show the street in motion, daily madness, or overcrowded boulevards, all you have to do is focus.

You won't need a tripod, shoot straight from the hand.

If you ever asked yourself about all those photos that were taken at car races, football games, and many other situations in motion that are leaving an impression of how fast the objects move, with a blurry out of the focus background that's it - panning.

How to?

Shutter speed is one of the main options, it should be from 1/20s to 1/90s (also depends on how fast object is moving) or simply use** shutter priority mode** if you are up to AUTO usage, but that's boring, it's way more fun to play around with it.

Perfect sweet spot is actually 1/30s - according to the personal experience.

Focus the object (also focus lock is recommended), and manipulate the light with aperture.

Simply align with an object, push the trigger, follow it - like you are recording the movement, release the trigger - easy peasy!

For unforeseen objects, autofocus is highly recommended (which makes it even easier), and if you have already planned something in advance, then you have enough time to focus manually.

Have you ever tried this technique? Was it fun?
