In this video, I have combined all of Professor Eric Laithwaite's 1974 lectures from the Royal Institution's annual Christmas Lectures series. There are 6 lectures in total and the series is entitled "The Engineer Through the Looking Glass". Eric mirrors the storyline of the famous 1871 novel by Lewis Carroll entitled "Alice Through the Looking-Glass". This is a very fitting storyline to Eric Laithwaite since he was able to see through the "looking glass" that was true gyroscopic science, specifically in gyroscopes lack of conventional inertia during precession, something which still alludes the majority of the world's scientists. Going through the looking glass reveals a world of wonder far beyond what is previously thought possible.

The time stamps of for each lecture is listed below:

  • Lecture 1: Looking Glass House: 0:00
  • Lecture 2: Tweedledum and Tweedledee: 56:28
  • Lecture 3: Jam Yesterday, Jam Tomorrow: 1:55:49
  • Lecture 4: The Jabberwock: 2:53:43
  • Lecture 5: The Time Has Come the Walrus Said: 3:53:40
  • Lecture 6: It's My Own Invention: 4:51:42
