Hello friends! On a quite afternoon I was checking my fabrics and I saw some scraps of animal print and semi-leather that I had left from previous jobs and it occurred to me to make this beautiful bag to combine with sandals.
It is very easy to make. You can do it with: canvas, denim, jute, gabardine, etc. I made it with semi-leather elephant skin and cushion fabric, for the lining I used pop.
My design is simple lines, but you can decorate with bows, buttons, appliques is a matter of taste.
Step by step pictures at the end of the post
Materials:
- Animal print fabric 20 cm x 1.50 mts
- Semi-leather 25 cm x 1.25 mts
- Lining (pop) 40cm x 1.50 mts
- Thread (what is necessary)
- Measuring tape
- Scissors
- Sewing machine
Upper :( semi-leather)
- Cut 2 rectangles 25 cm high x 44 cm wide
- Cut a rectangle of 26 cm x 20 cm
Animal Print:
- Cut 2 rectangles 17.5 cm high x 44 cm wide
For the handles:
- Cut 2 strips of 7 cm wide x 50 long
For the lining:
- Cut 2 squares 41 cm high x 44 cm wide
- Cut a square for the bottom of the bag measuring 26 cm x 20 cm
- For the pocket one of 13x 13 cm.
- Assembly (the liner)
- Take the pocket and make a straight seam at the top.
- Pin to a liner cap and sew
- Take the two lining caps and sew both sides.
- Divide into four parts what will be the bottom of the bag and mark with chalk or pickets and suffice the piece that we already have prepared (only in three parts, leaving an opening for when it is necessary to turn) sew by machine. Reserve.
External part of the bag:
- Sew the handles by the selvage, turn and topstitch.
- Sew the fabric to the semi-leather (repeat)
- Make a topstitch stitch to seat the seams on both pieces.
- Join both sides and sew (taking care that the seams match)
For the bottom
- Take the 26 cm x 20 cm piece of semi-leather and mark with pencil or pegs (divided into equal parts. Do the same in the bag (in the semi-leather part)
- Sew the bottom to the bag (for the front it will be 26 cm)
- Sew on all four sides.
- Attach the handles to the outside of the bag, sew.
- With the bag on the right, put it inside the lining and it will be upside down. Sew along the entire selvage, taking care that the handles are inside. (It would leave fabric and lining right with right)
- Turn the pieces over and seam the opening that we had left in the lining.
- Reinforce the contour of the bag with stitching.
I hope you like it . It is a versatile design, you can use it with casual clothes, jeans and why not, even to take it to the market.

Hola amigos, en una tarde de ocio revisaba mis telas y vi unos retazos de animal print y semicuero que me habían quedado de trabajos anteriores y se me ocurrió hacer este hermoso bolso para combinar con unas sandalias que no tenían cartera.
Es muy fácil de confeccionar. Pueden hacerlo con : lona, denim, yute, gabardina, etc. Yo lo hice con semicuero piel de elefante y tela de cojín, para el forro utilicé pop .
Mi diseño es de líneas simples, pero ustedes pueden adornar con lazos , botones, apliques es cuestión de gusto.
Materiales:
- Tela animal print 20 cm x 1.50 mts
- Semicuero 25 cm x 1.25 mts
- Forro (pop) 40cm x 1.50 mts
- Hilo ( lo necesario)
- Cinta métrica
- Tijera
- Máquina de coser
Corte:( semicuero)
- Cortar 2 rectángulos de 25 cm de alto x 44 cm de ancho
- Cortar un rectángulo de 26 cm x 20 cm
Animal print:
- Cortar 2 rectángulos de 17.5 cm de alto x 44 cm de ancho
Para las asas:
- Cortar 2 tiras de 7 cm de ancho x 50 de largo
Para el forro:
- Cortar 2 cuadros de 41 cm de alto x 44 cm de ancho
- Cortar un cuadrado para el fondo del bolso de 26 cm x 20 cm
- Para el bolsillo uno de 13x 13 cm.
- Ensamblaje ( el forro)
- Tomar el bolsillo y hacer una costura recta en la parte superior.
- Fijar con alfileres a una tapa del forro y coser
- Tomar las dos tapas del forro y coser ambos laterales.
- Dividir en cuatro partes lo que va a ser el fondo del bolso y marcar con tiza o piquetes y bastear a la pieza que ya tenemos preparada ( solo en tres partes, dejando una abertura para cuando haya que voltear) coser a máquina. Reservar.
Parte externa del bolso:
- Coser las asas por el orillo, voltear y pespuntear.
- Coser la tela al semicuero ( repetir)
- Hacer un pespunte de adorno para asentar las costuras en ambas piezas.
- Unir ambos laterales y coser( cuidando que cuadren las costuras)
- Para el fondo de la cartera:
- Tomar la pieza de semicuero de 26 cm x 20 cm y marcar con lápiz o piquetes ( dividida en partes iguales. Hacer lo mismo en el bolso ( en la parte del semicuero)
- Coser el fondo al bolso (para la parte frontal será la de 26 cm )
- Coser por los cuatro lados.
- Fijar las asas a la parte externa del bolso, coser.
- Con el bolso al derecho meterla dentro del forro y este estará al revés. Coser por todo el orillo , cuidando que las asas queden adentro.( Quedaría tela y forro derecho con derecho)
- Voltear las piezas y cerrar con costura la abertura que habíamos dejado en el forro.
- Reforzar con costura el contorno del bolso.
