Un nuevo escarabajo se une a mi colección. Esta especie no la había visto antes. Sé que habita en estas zonas pero como le digo, no había corrido con la suerte de tenerlo cerca.
A new beetle joins my collection. I have not seen this species before. I know it inhabits these areas but as I say, I had not been lucky enough to have it nearby.
Cualquiera puede asustarse ante la vista de este escarabajo. Es uno de los más grandes de estas especies. Posee largas patas delanteras con unas especies de pinzas en las puntas. Hay un cacho largo sobresaliendo en la cabeza del insecto, tiene unos pelos amarillentos cubriendo cierta parte del mismo. Es una especie bastante extraña. Anyone can be frightened at the sight of this beetle. It is one of the largest of these species. It has long front legs with a kind of pincers on the tips. There is a long horn protruding from the head of the insect, with yellowish hairs covering a certain part of it. It is a rather strange species.
El color de este escarabajo es marrón caramelo con algunas partes oscuras. Es la época de lluvia, momento en que la tierra se remueve para dejar libre estas especies. Salen de sus guaridas con el firme objetivo de aparearse para reproducirse.
The color of this beetle is caramel brown with some dark parts. It is the rainy season, when the soil is disturbed to free these species. They come out of their lairs with the firm objective of mating to reproduce.
El escarabajo hércules tiene el mismo comportamiento de otros de su misma especie
En estas especies los machos son mucho más grandes que las hembras. Pueden diferenciarse fácilmente porque las hembras no poseen cuernos. Sería interesante ver a dos escarabajos como este en acción. Los escarabajos machos usan sus cuernos para pelearse a la hembra. Las heridas provocadas por las pinzas de estos insectos pueden ser mortales. Durante la lucha solo uno sale como vencedor.
In these species the males are much larger than the females. They can be easily differentiated because the females do not have horns. It would be interesting to see two beetles like this in action. The male beetles use their horns to fight the female. The wounds caused by the claws of these insects can be deadly. During the fight only one emerges as the victor.
Aún y cuando este escarabajo utiliza sus grandes pinzas para defenderse son inofensivos para los humanos.
Even though these beetles use their large pincers to defend themselves, they are harmless to humans.
Los escarabajos se alimentan de frutos pero se dice que si su alimento es a basa de animales en descomposición, alcanza un gran tamaño.
The beetles feed on fruits but it is said that if their food is based on decaying animals, they reach a large size.
Los escarabajo tienen, al igual que otros insectos, funciones extraordinarias. Entre sus diferentes roles se menciona que son grandes depredadores porque logran controlar insectos plagas, también descomponen materia orgánica, son polinizadores, entre otras funciones.
Beetles, like other insects, have extraordinary functions. Among their different roles it is mentioned that they are great predators because they are able to control insect pests, they also decompose organic matter, they are pollinators, among other functions.*
Presento en este concurso al escarabajo hércules porque lo encontré en el camino de forma inesperada. Fue una grata sorpresa en un día fuerte lluvia.
I am entering the hercules beetle in this contest because I found it on the road unexpectedly. It was a pleasant surprise on a heavy rainy day.

These Hercules Beetles are really amazing .. I never saw one in person, but I know that they are huuuge and powerful 😄 .. I also heared that they sre considered as lucky charms 🍀 .. So, just wait for something good to happen 😁
