Hello to all the members of this community! With some excitement I come to show you the photographs of a fascinating event that took place in my home. I currently live in a country area, so I have had several encounters with insects and although, I do not know anything about them, take pictures to show them here, it has allowed me not only to stop to admire them, but also to lose a little fear of these animals, which used to see exclusively from afar.
This particular friend I think it’s a grasshopper, though, I’m not sure. I was in the front of the house looking for something signal when suddenly, it occurred to me to look at a shaped tree that is there. As new buds are being born, I had in mind to contemplate them … but suddenly, I noticed something unusual hanging from one of the new branches of the tree. From a distance I was not able to distinguish it was, then when I realized that it was a grasshopper I went a little more, because I realized that I was upside down. I admit that I was worried, for I thought I had been prey to an animal that had left it in its network or something similar. Although for its size, it was unlikely, at least that happened in the garden of my house.
When I approach enough, I realized what was happening: I was moving with a skin. Never in my life had witnessed the skin change of an insect, I just knew that they did. So, with great care, I took photographs at a prudent distance, since the grasshopper looked something uncomfortable when I approached too much, as trying to flee. Since it seemed not to have left all of his old skin, I left him calmly for a while and every time he peeked me, to see his progress.
I must admit that they were somewhat exciting hours. Notice the changes that the grasshopper had had once it was coming completely, it was fascinating. Its color, became yellowish to a more vibrant green, its wings and its legs, extended and for a long time, was hanging from the branch. I assume that he was receiving some sun and ventilation. I do not know if that process hurts them or something, but maybe they need a time to be able to move free. My brother thinks that when they move from skin are wet and they should dry. Maybe it’s that. I found it fun to see it as if it were a piece of clothes drying in the sun, because that’s how I lacked ha ha
Once the grasshopper disappeared, I imagined that I had finally gone to continue with his own, leaving behind his ancient skin. Carefully we take it and keep it, after admiring it for a while. Not only is it incrediblely the way in which nature is prepared for change, but what it leaves behind, beyond being the fragile remains of the past, reflects the determination of that creature to move forward to becoming an improved version of itself … It is beautiful to find this kind of similarities among all the beings that we inhabit the incredible planet Earth.

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! Con algo de emoción vengo a mostrarles las fotografías de un fascinante evento que tuvo lugar en mi hogar. Vivo actualmente en una zona campestre, así que he tenido diversos encuentros con insectos y aunque, no sé nada sobre ellos, tomarles fotografías para mostrarlas acá, me ha permitido no sólo detenerme a admirarlos, sino también a perder un poco de miedo a estos animales, los cuales solía ver exclusivamente desde lejos.
Éste amigo en particular creo que se trata de un saltamontes, aunque, no estoy segura. Me encontraba en la parte delantera de la casa buscando algo de señal cuando de pronto, se me ocurrió mirar en dirección a un árbol talado que hay allí. Como están naciendo nuevos brotes, tenía en mente contemplarlos... pero de pronto, me percaté de algo inusual colgando de una de las ramas nuevas del árbol. Desde lejos no fui capaz de distinguir que era, luego al darme cuenta de que era un saltamontes me acerqué un poco más, pues me di cuenta de que se hallaba al revés. Admito que me preocupó, pues pensé que había sido presa de algún animal que lo había dejado en su red o algo parecido. Aunque por su tamaño, fuera poco probable, al menos que ocurriese en el jardín de mi casa.
Al acercarme lo suficiente me di cuenta de lo que estaba sucediendo: Estaba mudando de piel. Nunca en mi vida había presenciado el cambio de piel de un insecto, sólo sabía que eso hacían. Por lo que, con mucho cuidado, le tomé fotografías a una distancia prudente, dado que el saltamontes se veía algo incómodo cuando me aproximaba demasiado, como intentando huir. Dado que parecía no haber salido del todo de su antigua piel, lo dejé tranquilo un rato y cada cierto tiempo me asomaba, para ver su progreso.
Debo admitir que fueron unas horas algo emocionantes. Notar los cambios que había tenido el saltamontes una vez que hubo salido del todo, fue fascinante. Su color, pasó de verse amarillento a un verde más vibrante, sus alas y sus patas, se extendieron y durante un largo rato, estuvo colgado de la rama. Asumo que estaba recibiendo algo de sol y ventilación. No sé si ese proceso les duela o algo, pero a lo mejor necesitan un tiempo para poder moverse a libertad. Mi hermano piensa que cuando mudan de piel estan húmedos y deben secarse. A lo mejor es eso. Me pareció divertido verlo como si fuera una pieza de ropa secándose al sol, porque así lucía ja ja
Una vez que el saltamontes desapareció, me imaginé que finalmente se había ido a continuar con lo suyo, dejando atrás su antigua piel. Con cuidado la tomamos y guardamos, luego de admirarla un rato. No sólo es increíble el modo en que la naturaleza se prepara para el cambio, sino que lo que deja atrás, más allá de ser los restos de frágiles del pasado, refleja la determinación de aquella criatura para seguir adelante hasta convertirse en una mejorada versión de sí misma... Es hermoso hallar éste tipo de similitudes entre todos los seres que habitamos el increíble planeta tierra.
