The Western Christmas Day is considered the "First Day of Christmas" and the 12 days of Christmas go from December 25th to January 5th.
The eve of the 12th day of Christmas is also called Epiphany Eve and I have just had an epiphany.
"On the twelve day of Christmas my true love gave to me... 12 drummers drumming!"
How about if we list 12 drummers drumming. I listed 12 videos of drummers drumming. There are so many more drummers I want to include but these are the drummers that came to mind.

The drummer boy himself will take you to another world. There is not much I can say except listen. This is like calypso funk rock marching and life rolled up in one.
3. Bernard Purdie "Mississippi Bigfoot"
Don't let me fool you. You need to listen three or four times. He is adding ghost notes that will trip you out. Try following by counting (not the bass--- the drums!!). What time are you catching? Amazing!!
2. Neil Part -
Here is Neil with Rush in Tom Sawyer. He is powerful, but notice how meticulous he is with beat and how he picks up on the key board antics with his cymbals.
1. Ginger Baker -
Here check out his performance in Sunshine of your love with Creme. He kicks it with two kick drums, syncopation, groovy rhythms, and ride cymbals that give this song that fusion feeling.

Steel drums: Really cool drums; Number 10 not my favourite show though.
Number 8: The Street drummer - I came across this guy before... Absolute BRILLIANT!
The cooking drumming made me smiley from ear to ear.
And of course, all these stage drummers: Cool, but my focus was (and still is) on the number 12 to 7; They are unusual in drumming while the top 6 is unusual good, but its stage drumming :)
Thank you for listening @edje and thanks a lot for your input. When I think about music the main stream classic rock comes to mind first and then the roots come. This post got a mix of both.
Number 12 is a favorite of mine when I teach numbers to ESL students.
Sorry about number 10. I heard this kind of music as a child but couldn't find the right band.
Number 8 is one I'd like to meet.
6-1 are legends. I was conflicted. I wanted to include not only drumming but also cool drummers I rememberd. I noticed later that these last drummers are either British or American. If I write a post next year on the 12th day of Christmas I will include 12 drummers from different countries.
