The first flying torpedo boat to be finished is the Arcadian design. I do not yet know if this will, canonically, be the first to be developed. I'm still working on the fictional history behind the development of the aerial torpedo and the devices that launch it, including heavy aeroplanes, conventional airships, and armoured airships. Armoured airships have a number of advantages over all other devices.

The Arcadian flying torpedo boat is armed with four 30-cm missile tubes - yes, despite the fact that the rockets are called "aerial torpedoes," their launchers are called missile tubes - two 60-cm missile tubes, two 125-mm cannons, six 75-mm cannons, four twin-autocannon turrets, and four medium machine guns. The sponsons in the lower stern mount two of the 75-mm cannons.

The 60-metre, 720-tonne airship has a top speed of 110 knots. This is only 20 tonnes heavier than a 50-metre flying gunboat, though I will probably reduce the latter's weight to 600 tonnes or less. The following images show a comparison of the flying gunboat, flying torpedo boat, and Interdictor.

The torpedo boat turns away after launching its torpedoеs. The aerial torpedoes are radio-controlled, so their courses can be adjusted from the bridge, ensuring that they can hit a moving target... well, better than an unguided projectile, anyway. Unlike modern guided missiles, aerial torpedoes are not terribly accurate, but they are tremendously destructive when they find their mark.

I'm impressed that these things are able to get off the ground and I think they would be terrifying to be on the wrong end of.
Armoured airships are so OP, they are vulnerable to exactly three things: folly, hubris, and another of its own kind.
Getting one off the ground requires a tremendous amount of electricity run through levitating green crystals that occur naturally on my fictional planet. In order to make a facsimile using technology that's available in our world, I would have to make the construction very light and place high-speed turbines inside the bells. One day, perhaps...
Sounds like a steampunk setting ;D
