Ask Yourself How and Why: Episode 59

There's a very simple formula for goal-setting that comes from Tony Robbins - Outcome, Purpose, Action. That is, knowing what you want to achieve, why, and how.

Robbins gives an example, setting the goal of going to lunch with his son. Writing the goal as most people do, he might just tick it off as soon as they sit down to eat.

However, Robbins' purpose was to spend quality time with his son, to enjoy each others' presence, to give his son time, patience, wisdom - if necessary. Being clear about the purpose means he can fulfill his goal in a much deeper and satisfying way.

When you are aware of the purpose of your actions, it can increase your fulfillment and effectiveness.
