Tiempo sin pasar por acá y compartir con ustedes. La verdad es que mi trabajo me ha consumido mucho tiempo, gracias a Dios tuve muchos pacientes en la clínica y no tenía tiempo para sentarme y trabajar en mi blog.
It's been a while since I've been here to share with you. The truth is that my work has consumed me a lot of time, thank God I had many patients in the clinic and I had no time to sit down and work on my blog.
Sumado a eso saben lo caóticas que son estas fechas debido a la navidad y pues, hasta ahorita es que pude comenzar a retomar todo eso que tenía por ahí guardadito para compartirles.
Added to that you know how chaotic these dates are due to Christmas and well, until now I was able to start to retake all that I had saved to share with you.
Comenzaremos esta serie de publicaciones con motivos navideños con estos lindos copos de nieve hechos con paletas.
We will begin this series of posts with Christmas motifs with these cute snowflakes made with popsicles.
Todo comenzó porque este año me dio una fiebre de hacer y buscar ideas de adornos navideños con material reciclable y entre las ideas que estuve buscando por Internet conseguí que se podían hacer varias figuras con paletas de helado, figuras minimalistas, y dentro de esas ideas conseguí los copos de nieve que se pueden pegar en la pared, colgar en las ventanas, y hacer muchos tipos de decoraciones con estos copos de nieves hechos con paletas de helado.
It all started because this year I got a fever to make and look for ideas of Christmas decorations with recyclable material and among the ideas that I was looking for on the Internet I got that you could make various figures with popsicle sticks, minimalist figures, and among those ideas I got the snowflakes that can be pasted on the wall, hang in the windows, and make many types of decorations with these snowflakes made with popsicle sticks.
En vista de que yo tenía una gran cantidad de estas en la casa, las cuales tenía guardadas desde hace muchos años de cuando hacía manualidades, me animé a hacer estos copos, pero como estas paletas que yo tenía eran de distintos tonos de marrón, tuve que pintarlas.
Since I had a large quantity of these in the house, which I had saved from many years ago when I used to make crafts, I decided to make these flakes, but since the palettes I had were of different shades of brown, I had to paint them.
Primero intenté pintarlas con Spray de color gris, pero el resultado no fue como esperaba, así que decidí hacer un solo copo de este color y los otros dos los pinté con un pincel y pintura al frío blanca.
First I tried to paint them with gray spray paint, but the result was not as I expected, so I decided to make only one flake of this color and the other two I painted with a brush and white cold paint.
Esto lo fui haciendo una por una. Primero las pinté de un lado y luego del otro lado, Esperé que secaran muy bien y luego les apliqué otra manito de pintura para que quedara bien uniforme el color, sobre todo porque había unas de colores más oscuros y costaba más que quedaran con un blanco más parejo.
I did this one by one. First I painted them on one side and then on the other side, I waited for them to dry very well and then I applied another coat of paint so that the color would be uniform, especially because there were some of darker colors and it was more difficult to get a more even white.
Al secar la pintura les agregué un poco de silicón frío y cubriendo mi mano con un trozo de bolsa plástica fui distribuyéndolo en cada uno de los palitos. Luego los bañé de escarcha, los palitos grises con escarcha plateada y los blancos con escarcha blanca, así logré darles ese toqué brillante y mágico que caracteriza la navidad.
When the paint was dry I added a little bit of cold silicone and covering my hand with a piece of plastic bag I distributed it on each of the sticks. Then I bathed them in frosting, the gray sticks with silver frosting and the white ones with white frosting, so I could give them that shiny and magical touch that characterizes Christmas.
Luego de pintarlas me dispuse a armar la forma de distintos copos de nieve teniendo como referencia las imágenes que había visto por Pinterest, yo iba viendo la imagen e iba pegando las paletas tal cual, tratando de hacer el mismo modelo.
After painting them I started to assemble the shape of different snowflakes taking as a reference the images I had seen on Pinterest, I was looking at the image and I was gluing the pallets as they were, trying to make the same model.
Fui pegando cada uno de los extremos con una pistolita de silicón caliente, pero a la mitad del proceso se me terminó la barrita y terminé de pegar el resto con silicón frío.
I was gluing each of the ends with a hot silicone gun, but halfway through the process I ran out of the stick and finished gluing the rest with cold silicone.
Los dejé secar muy bien un par de horas para asegurarme que no fueran a despegarse cuando las moviera y así los tuve listos para ser colgados. Se me olvidaba mencionar que en el centro de los copos pegué una pequeña estrella de color plateado las cuales tenía de unas decoraciones viejas.
I let them dry very well for a couple of hours to make sure they wouldn't peel off when I moved them and so I had them ready to be hung. I forgot to mention that in the center of the flakes I glued a small silver star which I had from some old decorations.
A mi parecer quedaron bien lindos, bien armados, la verdad es que resultaron ser bastante grandes, tienen aproximadamente unos 30 - 50 centímetros de diámetro, así que te recomiendo que los coloques en un espacio amplio.
In my opinion they were very nice, well assembled, the truth is that they turned out to be quite large, they are approximately 30 - 50 centimeters in diameter, so I recommend that you place them in a large space.
Yo por lo menos los utilicé para decorar la ventana del negocio de mi novio, pero lamentablemente por el contraluz y que además por ser de colores claros no se aprecian muy bien, por lo que te recomiendo que los coloques en una pared que permita hacer un contraste con ellos y se aprecien mejor.
I at least used them to decorate the window of my boyfriend's business, but unfortunately because of the backlighting and also because they are light colors they are not appreciated very well, so I recommend that you place them on a wall that allows a contrast with them and they are better appreciated.
