Día 5: ¡Mucho rock!
Day 5: A lot of rock!
Cuando se trata de música mis gustos son muy variados y eso es algo que me encanta y aunque la música no es imprescindible para mi a la hora de sentarme a dibujar tampoco me molesta.
Entonces navegaba por YouTube que bien me conoce y recuerdo una banda que me gusto hace unos años y que tenia tiempo sin escuchar. Por las próximas tres horas me obsesione tanto con ellos que hasta me vi un concierto, pero es que siento que valen tanto la pena.
Dejando un poco mi lado fan para no extenderme explicando porque deberían escuchar On ok rock me fui a Google a buscar imágenes que me inspiraran de Taka, el vocalista de la banda y después de un rato seleccionando la imagen que pondría de protector de pantalla en mi teléfono encontré otra muy buena para dibujarla.

When it comes to music my tastes are very varied and that's something I love and although music is not essential for me when I sit down to draw it doesn't bother me either.
Then I was surfing YouTube and I remembered a band I liked a few years ago that I hadn't listened to in a while. For the next three hours I became so obsessed with them that I even watched a concert, but I just feel they are so worth it.
Leaving a little bit my fan side to not extend myself explaining why you should listen to On ok rock I went to Google to look for images that would inspire me of Taka, the lead singer of the band and after a while selecting the image that I would put as screensaver on my phone I found another very good one to draw.
Más allá de ser una foto del cantante, lo que me llevo a seleccionarla fue el fondo, quería ver que tanto era capaz de crear ese tipo de atmosfera desdibujada. El dibujo era en carboncillo por lo que me fui a editar la foto para verla en blanco y negro desde el principio, eso me facilitaría estudiar donde iban las luces y sombras.
Beyond being a photo of the singer, what led me to select it was the background, I wanted to see how much I was able to create that kind of blurred atmosphere. The drawing was in charcoal so I went to edit the photo to see it in black and white from the beginning, that would make it easier for me to study where the lights and shadows were going.
Estaba yo bien instalada viendo el concierto y nada que comenzaba a dibujar. Cuando por fin lo hice fue directamente en el fondo hasta que me dije "mejor hagamos un boceto simple de la figura para ubicarnos" y eso paso y te digo que ya al boceto no le tenia fe.
I was well installed watching the concert and nothing I started to draw. When I finally did it, it was directly in the background until I said to myself "we'd better make a simple sketch of the figure to get our bearings" and that's what happened and I tell you that I had no faith in the sketch.
Vamos con calma

Como este reto es mío voy armando las reglas en el proceso y como descansar también es necesario me fui tomando las cosas con calma para este quinto dibujo, tanto así que lo comencé el sábado y terminé el domingo y es probable que los próximos fines de semana haga lo mismo.
As this challenge is mine, I am making the rules in the process and as resting is also necessary, I took it easy for this fifth drawing, so much so that I started it on Saturday and finished it on Sunday, and it is likely that I will do the same for the next weekends.
Hay una forma en la que a mi me gusta trabajar el carboncillo y se trata de no pasar la barra directamente sobre el soporte en el que trabajo, más bien busco otro tipo de papel para tenerlo a un lado y allí si rayar con el carbón, esto lo que me permite es tener el polvillo para aplicarlo con la herramienta que elija.
There is a way in which I like to work the charcoal and it is not to pass the bar directly on the support on which I work, rather I look for another type of paper to have it aside and there if I scratch with the charcoal, this allows me to have the powder to apply it with the tool of my choice.
Un ejemplo de herramientas que uso son isopos o algodón y pincel de cerdas suaves (aunque el que esta allí se ve tieso), esto lo que me permite es generar una cobertura sutil del carboncillo y para este fondo que es desenfocado me funciona perfectamente.
An example of tools I use are isopes or cotton and soft bristle brush (although the one that is there looks stiff), this allows me to generate a subtle coverage of the charcoal and for this background that is out of focus it works perfectly for me.
El carbón directo en mi dibujo lo usé para bajar el tono y hacer las zonas de mayor oscuridad, necesitaba una buena base porque el siguiente paso seria borrar. Es así, con el borrador de un lápiz que presione en la superficie para extraer el material hice ese efecto de foco desenfocado y una vez contenta con el fondo si venia lo difícil.
The direct charcoal in my drawing I used it to lower the tone and make the areas of greater darkness, I needed a good base because the next step would be to erase. So, with the eraser of a pencil that I pressed on the surface to extract the material I made that out of focus effect and once I was happy with the background the hard part came.
Un error y todo se va al...
One mistake and everything goes to...
Tenia mucho miedo a la hora de hacer la figura, no quería dañar todo el dibujo por un error, pero que otra cosa podía hacer más que continuar. Así fue como agarre un lápiz de carboncillo y comencé a dibujar el cabello.
I was very afraid to make the figure, I didn't want to damage the whole drawing by a mistake, but what else could I do but continue. So I grabbed a charcoal pencil and began to draw the hair.
Mi guía para hacer todo fueron las luces, tenia que estar muy pendiente de donde estaban las luces y en que tonalidades para construir la figuras. Y de esta forma las sombras marcadas con isopos.
My guide to do everything was the lights, I had to be very aware of where the lights were and in what tonalities to build the figures. And in this way the shadows marked with isopes.
Como decimos entre artistas (mis amigos y yo) el dibujo iba teniendo buen lejos, por lo menos.
As we say among artists (my friends and I) the drawing was going well, at least.
Por supuesto, no te digo lo mucho que me costo dibujar la mano, la hacia y la borraba a cada rato al igual que el brazo.
Of course, I don't tell you how much it cost me to draw the hand, I made it and erased it all the time, as well as the arm.
Cuando tenia una buena base de sombras y que todo estaba en su sitio intensifique los grises y ahora si iba agarrando más forma. Seguía con sus detalles, pero iba bien.
When I had a good base of shadows and everything was in place, I intensified the grays and now it was taking more shape. It still had its details, but it was going well.
Sigo insistiendo, la clave para tener un buen resultado con el carboncillo es saber ubicar las luces que fueron realizadas con el borrador del lápiz. Esta foto que esta justo arriba fue mi favorita, por la perspectiva no se aprecian tanto los detalles de la mano.
I keep insisting, the key to have a good result with charcoal is to know how to place the lights that were made with the pencil eraser. This photo that is just above was my favorite, because of the perspective you can't see the details of the hand.
Decidí terminar por el bien del dibujo, sentía que si lo seguía mirando encontraría muchísimos más detalles estructurales, así que por paz mental le aplique su capa de fijador y lo dejé a un lado.
I decided to finish for the sake of the drawing, I felt that if I kept looking at it I would find a lot more structural details, so for peace of mind I applied a coat of fixative and put it aside.
Y bueno este fue el resultado, disfrute bastante haciendo este dibujo de Taka y más porque me la pase escuchando estos dos días full canciones de On ok rock, mi obsesión del din de semana. En general el acabado del dibujo me tiene bastante contenta a pesar de los errores estructurales que pude identificar.

And well this was the result, I enjoyed a lot making this drawing of Taka and more because I spent these two days listening to full songs of On ok rock, my obsession of the weekend. In general I'm quite happy with the finished drawing despite the structural errors that I could identify.
Over there I found other images of Taka that I liked to draw so I'll be showing them to you later.

El carboncillo es una d las técnicas que más respeto y la uso poco porque realmente ese recurso aquí escaseaa y el fijador aún más.
Conozco maestros impresionantes en esa técnica.
A mí me parece que lo haces muy bien y quiero seguír viendo cosas tuyas para aprender más.

Te quedó muy bien definido el contraste las luces las sombras todo muy bien coordinado para un efecto de fondo genial, hiciste un trabajo de mucho esmero, te enfocas muy bien te felicito.
La técnica del carboncillo tiene algo que todos respetamos profundamente y que no pasa de moda.
