Greetings to you all in this great community @hivediy, it is a great day out here and I hope you are doing great as well at your respective places. It is with great pleasure that I'm sharing with you today the making of this simple and beautiful purse made from fabric into something useful for the safe keeping of my phone, cards and cash with a small button at the tip to secure the items in it
Most times, we usually go out with these items with us which are very important to our day to day use and to secure these items or to have them close to us for easy access, most of us prefer to go out with a small purse rather than going out with a big bag. If you are someone like me, then you can make something like this for yourself or sometimes you can have these items in your purse before you put it in your hand bag.
This is a simple purse you can make from a piece of fabric and you will love the beautiful outcome. Join me as i take you through the cutting and sewing process.
From my piece of fabric, I measured 17 x 17" which was cut out
I cut out a piece of lining measuring same shape
An interfacing was cut out and ironed on the main fabric for the purse to be firm
The lining was placed on the right side of fabric and it was taken to the sewing machine where it was sewn together leaving a small opening for it to be turned to the right side
It was sewn and turned to the right side through the little opening and it was neatly ironed
I folded it in a triangular shape on equal part to locate the middle
The lower part was folded up to the center line just as seen below
Then it was folded up at the middle as well, to create a pocket
I folded the left side in by 6.5" and on the other side as well to create another pocket
The tip of the right side that was folded in was folded back to the middle and opened up,then I used my hand needle and thread to hold the middle firm from opening.
Finally, I used my hand needle and thread to fix a press button on the flip cover and on the little tip of the opening I made to secure the items in it
This is the final and beautiful outcome of the purse I made for my phone, card and cash from fabric with a press button to secure the items in it.
I hope you like the beautiful outcome, you can try this out as well with a small piece of left over fabric instead of disposing them.
