Hello everyone
Happy Easter and the resurrection of Jesus Christ to you all on this beautiful day, it is a season of celebration and I hope you will all be having great fun today with family and friends, I pray that this season will have a meaningful impact in our life as we celebrate this day. I'm here in this beautiful community @hivediy to share with you a simple and useful project you can make with a small piece of left over fabric and as you can see, it's looking so nice and beautiful.
As a seamstress, I believe every pieces is useful until the last piece and this has really been helpful to my sewing skills, I usually like to make use of every pieces until there's nothing to be done with the last piece, this is one of my recent creativity I made from pieces of left over fabric, this will be given out to someone as a gift just as I have been doing to the previous ones. I made this particular pouch with the zipper located at the middle with handle and the sides were pipe with another color of fabric to make it look colorful and nice.
Join me as I take you through the cutting and sewing process.
Materials needed:
Small piece of fabric
Lining
Zipper
Interfacing
From my pieces of left over fabrics, I picked out this blue fabric and measured 9 x 11" with lining and interfacing ironed on the main fabric
The lining and fabric were taken to the sewing machine where the zipper was placed on the main fabric and the lining was on the zipper before it was sewn together, it was turned to the right side and I top stitched on it, the same was repeated on the other side as well.
It was zipped together and I notched on the opposite side of the zipper then I thought it would be nice to have a handle to it for easy holding, I cut out a small piece which was folded and sewn together to make the handle and it was sewn to the zipper end.
The excess on both sides were trimmed off and I cut out two long pieces of another color of fabric to pipe both sides since it was sewn on the right side, I had to cover the rough edges.
The pieces were sewn to the back of the pouch and turn to the front before it was folded and sewn in on both sides.
This is how the final outcome looks, I hope you like it.
This can be used as a phone or cash pouch and I have decided to give it out to a grand ma in my neighborhood as a gift, I know she will so appreciate it.
beautiful, simple shape easy to carry anywhere. The grandmother who received it must be very happy, something valuable.
I'm glad you like it and I really appreciate you for stopping by. Thanks so much.
