Hay muchas formas de personalizar y decorar esas botellas de vidrio que nos cuesta lanzar a la basura por considerarlas elegantes. Cerca de donde vivo hay una fábrica de Ron y la mayoría de los recipientes donde viene el licor son de un espesor y con formas distintas a las tradicionales.
Ésta de hoy me pareció muy bonita para botarla, entonces decidí hacerle un grabado de un surfista, algo diferente esta vez porque al llenarla de líquido se verá divertido. Espero el surfista no se ahogue en sus penas! Jaja
Por vivir en costas frente al ancho mar, suelo ver a menudo a muchos surfistas que practican con mucha emoción éste deporte. Nunca he intentado montarme en una tabla de surf pero vaya que si provoca hacerlo cuando los días son muy brillantes y la brisa ayuda a que el oleaje sea propicio.

There are many ways to personalize and decorate those glass bottles that we find difficult to throw away because we consider them elegant. Near where I live there is a Rum factory and most of the containers where the liquor comes are of a thickness and shape different from the traditional ones.
This one today seemed too pretty to throw away, so I decided to make an engraving of a surfer, something different this time because when you fill it with liquid it will look fun. I hope the surfer doesn't drown in his sorrows! Ha ha
Living on coasts facing the wide sea, I often see many surfers who practice this sport with great excitement. I have never tried to get on a surfboard but what a pleasure it is to do it when the days are very bright and the breeze helps the waves to be favorable.

Iniciamos haciendo el boceto de un surfista con su tabla en el centro dela botella, podemos bajar una imagen en la web para tener una muestra del diseño que queremos hacer.
Se utiliza un marcador permanente porque a la hora de hacer el esmerilado con las mechas diamantadas poder hidratar con agua la botella para que la mecha no se desgaste muy rápido.
We start by making a sketch of a surfer with his board in the center of the bottle, we can download an image on the web to have a sample of the design we want to make.
A permanent marker is used because when grinding with the diamond wicks it is possible to hydrate the bottle with water so that the wick does not wear out too quickly.
Usamos lentes protectores, hidratamos con agua y empezamos a pasar la mecha por el boceto de manera suave y siempre aplicando fuerza de afuera hacia nosotros para un mejor equilibrio.
La paciencia no debe faltar porque un descuido y nos salimos fácilmente de la raya dañando el diseño ya que no se puede borrar.
We use protective glasses, hydrate with water and begin to pass the wick through the sketch gently and always applying force from the outside towards us for better balance.
Patience should not be lacking because one carelessness and we easily go out of line, damaging the design since it cannot be erased.
Luego que se pasa la mecha por todo el boceto, se repite el proceso hidratando con agua hasta conseguir una profundidad bien enmarcada.

Para quitar los residuos es importante utilizar un paño húmedo, los restos de vidrios son muy peligrosos y se insertan por los poros.
Algunas personas utilizan guantes y es bien recomendarlos porque es muy molesto trabajar y que sintamos malestar en el cuerpo por no usar protección.

Para finalizar, se esmerila toda la superficie interna del boceto hasta conseguir rellenar todo para que se note la diferencia entre el vidrio liso y el esmerilado.
La idea es resaltar el boceto a la hora de llenar con algún líquido la botella, bien sea un jugo de naranja y que el surfista se vea sobre el nivel del agua o líquido como muestra la imagen siguiente.
To finish, the entire internal surface of the sketch is ground until everything is filled in so that the difference between smooth and frosted glass can be noticed.
The idea is to highlight the sketch when filling the bottle with some liquid, be it orange juice, and for the surfer to be seen above the level of the water or liquid as shown in the following image.
