Chuck Norris, a great legend of cinema and martial arts, has passed away. I grew up watching him on TV with my father as a child, along with all the action legends of the '80s, a time when cinema reached its peak. I followed his Instagram account and was amazed to see that he remained active, exercising and giving advice. He was always a role model for me. Since there are so few legends left who gave meaning and heroism to our lives, I've created this heartfelt tribute: a painting on a banknote of the great star of Walker, Texas Ranger. I hope that wherever he is, he's found Bruce Lee and they've finished their fight.
Ha fallecido Chuck Norris, una gran leyenda del cine y las artes marciales, una estrella la cual crecí viéndola por TV con mi padre cuando era niño, al igual que todas las leyendas de acción de los 80, dond el cine alcanzó su prime de perfección. Yo seguía su cuenta de instagram y me sorprendía al ver que se mantenía activo haciendo ejercicios y dando consejos, para mi siempre fue un ejemplo a seguir. Como ya quedan pocas leyendas que dieron significado de heroísmo a nuestras vidas, he realizado este sentido homenaje, una pintura realizada en un billete del gran protagonista de Walker Ranger de Texas. Espero que donde esté haya encontrado a Bruce Lee y terminen su combate.

Where to begin? All you need is a banknote. As I've mentioned, I have many, and I enjoy creating new figures and personalizing them, even if they've lost their value. To do this, I simply apply a layer of paint over the original image to create a good background and make it easier to draw. After it's completely dry, I use a very light-tipped pencil to sketch the face little by little, section by section, making sure to capture each line of expression as accurately as possible.
¿Por donde comenzar? solamente basta con tomar un billete, ya he relatado que tengo muchos, y de alguna forma me gusta hacer nuevas figuras y personalizar los billetes aunque hayan perdido su valor. Para hacerlo solo necesito aplicar una capa de pintura encima de la figura original, para convertirla en un buen fondo y que sea más fácil dibujar. Luego de que haya secado muy bien, con un lápiz de punta muy clara lo que hago es hacer el boceto del rostro poco a poco y parte por parte, asegurándome de hacer cada línea de expresión lo más fiel posible.

I continued drawing all the necessary lines with the pencil, for example, in the hair. As I drew, it needed a little more paint, so I added it. After the paint dried, I continued adding the lines. You can see that the face looks very well drawn in the sketch; from here on out, all that remains is to add the layers of paint.
Continué dibujando con el lápiz todas las líneas que hacían falta, por ejemplo en el cabello, a medida que dibujaba le faltó un poco más de pintura así que lo agregué. Después que se secó la pintura seguí agregando las líneas. pueden ver que el rostro se ve muy bien dibujado el boceto, de aquí en adelante solo queda agregar las capas de pintura.

Now it's time to use the acrylic paint. I'm using mostly white, which I'll then mix with a little brown, red, and yellow. Since it's a small amount of paint, the quantities should be minimal, so it's a bit more difficult to mix until you find the desired shade. My focus here is on painting the skin of the face, both the illuminated areas and those in shadow, which will help recreate the face's volume.
Ahora es el turno de utilizar la pintura acrílica, utilizo en mayor catidad el color blanco, el cual luego voy a mezclar con un poco de café y también rojo, y amarillo. Al tratarse de una pintura pequeña las cantidades de pinturas deben ser mínimas, así que es un poco más dificil mezclar hasta encontrar el tono que deseas, aquí mi interes es comenzar a pintar la píel dle rostro, tanto las partes que están iliminadas como aquellas que estan bajo la sombra y que permite recrear el volumen del rostro.

After all that, the skin layer was finished. The beard and eyes took the most time. Chuck Norris's look in his movies was that of a tough guy, like Clint Eastwood but with machine guns, hehe. So here I carefully applied the details using a fine brush. I used the same process for the hair until all the details were complete.
Despues de todo eso, ya la capa de la piel estuvo lista, donde hubo más tiempo que utilizar fue para hacer la barba y los ojos, la mirada de Chuck Norris en sus películas era la de un tipo duro, como Clint Eastwood pero con ametralladoras jejeje. Así que aquí fui cuidando los detalles utilizando un fino pincel. El mismo proceso fui utilizando para el cabello hasta finalizar todos los detalles.
What did you think of the final result? Another important detail was painting the upper part of his shirt so his face wouldn't be completely exposed. Now this great hero has earned his place among all my previous drawings, and he deserves it for having marked an era and for being a martial artist at a competitive level, a true champion. Everyone has given great farewells, and this is mine for someone who could stop a moving chainsaw, hehe. For now, I'll say goodbye, and see you soon.
¿Qué les ha parecido el Final? otro detalle importante fue pintar la parte superior de su camisa, para que el rostro simplemente no quedara al aire. Ahora este gran héroe ya tiene su puesto entre todos mis anteriores dibujos, y se lo merece, por haber marcado una época, y haber sido un artista marcial a nivel deportivo, siendo todo un campeón. Todos han hecho grandes despedidas, y esta es la mía hacia alguien que pudo detener una motosierra en movimiento jejeje. Por ahora me despido y será hasta pronto.
