Hello friends, how are you? Yesterday, very early in the morning, I started painting a part of the court where I practice basketball. The paint area was a little damaged. Last year we also did a little maintenance. So this time I got to work. Taking some of the profits from Hive, I bought a gallon of special court paint, it cost me $35 I think it was a little expensive, but the quality was excellent. It only took me an hour and a half to paint the spaces, I feel like I did it in a very short time, I thought I would only paint one side of the court, but I had enough paint to paint a few meters on the other side. Here I show you a little the process
Hola amigos, que tal?, el día de ayer, muy temprano por la mañana me puse a pintar una parte de la cancha donde yo practico basket, la zona de la pintura estaba un poco deteriorada, el año pasado también hicimos un pequeño mantenimiento, así que esta vez puse manos a la obras. Tomando un poco de las ganancias de Hive, compre un galón de pintura especial para canchas, me costo $35 creo que fue un poco costosa, pero la calidad era excelente. Tardé solo hora y media pintando los espacios, siento que lo hice en muy poco tiempo, pensé que solo pintaría un lado de la cancha, pero me alcanzó+o la pintura para pintar unos metros del otro lado. I arrived at 7 in the morning and quickly put everything in order, first I cleaned the surface with soap and water, the objective was to leave it free of dust so that the paint would have better adhesion, before cleaning I made some small repairs, such as plug holes using leak mix, and also a huge crack in the concrete. After it had dried, I began to clean with soap and water, finally with a mop I removed all the moisture until the floor was very clean to paint.
Llegue a las 7 de la mañana y rápido puse todo en orden, en primer lugar limpié la superficie con agua y jabón, el objetivo era dejarlo libre de polvo para que así la pintura tuviera mejor adherencia, antes de limpiar hice algunas pequeñas reparaciones, como tapar huecos utilizando mezcla para filtraciones, y también una grieta enorme del concreto. Luego de que hubo secado, comencé a limpiar con agua y jabón, por ultimo con un trapeador retiré toda la humedad hasta dejar el piso muy limpio para pintar.

The light bulb area was painted yellow, last time traffic paint was used, it was a serious mistake, this paint quickly began to lose its properties and that entire circular area looked like an ice skating rink, many injured their ankles from passing through that area, so that's where I started. I prepared the paint very well, stirring well, but I did not add any extra substance such as water, I preferred to leave it as is, very thick for greater coverage. Using a brush I began to paint little by little, it took around 15 minutes.
La zona de la bombilla estaba pintada de amarillo, la vez pasada se utilizó pintura de tráfico, fue un grave error, esta pintura en poco tiempo comencé a perder sus propiedades y toda esa zona circular parecia una pista de patinaje sobre hielo, muchos lesionaron sus tobillos por pasar en esa zona, así que por ahí comence. Preparé muy bien la pintura, revolviendo bien, pero no agregué ninguna sustancia extra como agua, preferí dejarla así, bien espesa para mayor cubrimiento. Utilizando una brocha comence a pintar poco a poco, tardé alrededor de 15 minutos.

The next step was to paint the area, although it was already painted green, it was also very slippery, then I let it dry, I applied the other coat and it was perfectly covered, for a moment I thought that the work would be lost because there was a threat of rain , but thanks to nature the clouds passed and I was able to continue working.
EL siguiente paso fue pintar la zona, aunque ya estaba pintada de color verde, también estaba muy resbaladiza, luego se dejar secar, apliqué la otra mano y quedó perfectamente cubierta, por un momento pensé que se perdería el trabajo porque había amenaza a de lluvia, pero gracias a la naturaleza las nubes pasaron y pude continuar trabajando.

Since there was a little paint left over, I took advantage of painting the area of the other board, but here I only had enough for two square meters, however the paint was enough to apply two coats of paint.
Como sobró un poco de pintura, aproveche de pintar la zona del otro tablero, pero aquí no me alcanzo más que para dos metros cuadrados, sin embargo la pintura fue suficiente como para colocar dos manos de pintura.

I couldn't just paint, I also made other repairs, I took down the rings of the boards and had them repaired, one had already broken, and the other had lost all the hooks where the meshes are placed. After welding them, I painted them using the oven painting technique, so the rings were like new, after that I placed both meshes, in those parts where there were no hooks I chose to tie them with threads and then secure them better with several turns of adhesive tape As a last step, I went back to the court and put both hoops on each board. And thus this small contribution to my community was completed.
No pue solo pintar, también hice otras reparaciones, bajé los aros de los tableros y mande a repararlos, uno ya se habia roto, y el otro se le había caído todos los ganchos donde se coloca las mallas. Luego de soldarlos, los pinté utilizando la técnica de pintura al horno, así quedaron los aros como nuevos, despues de eso coloqué ambas mallas, en aquellas parte donde no tenía ganchos opté por amarrarlas con hilos y despues asegurarla mejor con varias vueltas de cinta adhesiva, como último paso, fuí de nuevo a la cancha y puse ambos aros en cada tablero. Y así quedo finalizado este pequeño aporte a mi comunidad.
All on a cold Sunday morning, which turned out to be a great day, I am thinking about some things, painting other missing parts, as well as the boards, but for that I must raise more money, I plan to organize some basketball tournaments, so the money It will come from the users themselves and they will be able to see the results. Todo en una fría mañana de domingo, que resultó ser una grandiosa jornada, estoy pensando en algunos peses pintar otras partes que faltan, así como también los tableros, pero para eso debo reunir más dinero, pienso organizar algunos torneos de basket, así el dinero saldrá de los propios usuarios y podrán ver los resultados. Hemos luchado por años para manetener esta cancha en buen estado, protegiendola de los delincuentes, quiens siempre quieren tener un lugar para cometer sus fechorías, hasta ahora, el deporte y la unión de los ciudadanos ha dado resultados y espero que con el tiempo sean mejores. LA verdad no fue tanto, ya tengo experiencia pintando superficies grandes. El secreto fue ir bien temprano, porque si esperaba a que saliera el sol con toda su fuerza, los minutos serían horas.
This is a very kind thing to do, painting the place looks good and now everyone can enjoy playing in the court, besides it's a good thing that hive is empowering us to do alot of services like this in our community.
