For example, we have a style of music called Gaita, which has nothing to do with the musical instrument of the same name, it is a style that is played with percussions of African origin, and where the lyrics are referring to family Christmas, friendships and new year wishes. On the other hand, we have a whole gastronomy, where the best known is ham bread, and hallacas, this last food is always prepared by the whole family, since it is quite a feat to cook and the process would be impossible for just one person. person, so that the whole family gets involved, and while preparing everyone shares anecdotes, experiences and the family gets closer. Another aspect is to place the tree or assemble the manger, but one that is important and that many have fun with is repainting the entire house or part of it, this is the task that is always assigned to me, since I enjoy it more than anyone else. , and it is this task that I want to share with you briefly.
Hola queridos amigos, espero que se encuentren muy bien, Venezuela es un país muy particular en cuanto al tema de la navidad se refiere, en nuestra cultura existe toda una series de manifestaciones que nos hacen vivir esta época como ninguna otra. Por ejemplo, tenemos un estilo de música llamado Gaita, que nada tiene que ver con el instrumento musical de ese mismo nombre, es un estilo que se toca con percusiones de origen africano, y donde las letras son referentes a la navidad en familia, las amistades y los deseos de año nuevo. Por otra parte tenemos toda una gastronomía, donde lo más conocido es el pan de jamón, y las hallacas, este último alimento es preparado siempre por toda la familia, ya que que es toda una proeza de cocinar y el proceso sería imposible por una sola persona, de forma que se involucra toda la familia, y mientras se prepara todos comparte, anécdotas, vivencias y la familia se acerca. Otro aspecto es colocar el arbolito o armar el pesebre, pero una que es importante y que muchos se divierten es volver a pintar toda la casa o parte de ella, esta es la tarea que siempre se me asigna, ya que lo disfruto más que nadie, y es esta tarea que quiero compartir con ustedes brevemente.

I didn't use factory paint since I was going to start painting the walls facing the street. Instead I prepared a mixture with lime, water, coloring, salt and finally aloe vera, yes! aloe vera, this plant prevents the paint from coming off, it is a piece of advice that a neighbor gave me, because I really did not know this procedure, I thought that all I had to do was mix the lime with the water and the dye and with that I would have it. I prepared the mixture and in total I got 21 liters of paint, enough for the street wall and the front street wall.

En su lugar preparé una mezcla con cal, agua, colorante, sal y por último sábila, si! sábila, esta planta evita que la pintura se desprenda, es un consejo que me dio un vecino, porque yo realmente desconocía este procedimiento, yo pensaba que solo bastaba con mezclar la cal con el agua y el colorante y con eso ya tendría. Preparé la mezcla y en total obtuve 21 litros de pintura, suficiente para la pared de la calle y para la pared frontal de la calle.

Then with a brush and water I cleaned all the remaining dust, then let it dry for a few short minutes.
Para pintar primero prepare la superficie, con una espátula retiré la pintura en aquellas zonas donde estaba muy estropeado, había partes donde por toda la acción del sol y la lluvia, las capas de pinturas anteriores se estaban despegando por si solas, así que desde ahí comencé a pasar las espátula hasta donde la pintura ya no se cayera. Después con un cepillo y agua limpié todo el polvo restante, luego fue dejar secar por unos breves minutos.

I painted the entire wall without including the gate, I will paint that monster later with oil paint, it needs a lot of work, such as removing the old paint, sanding and putting blacksmith background on it so that it looks great again, I have to do that work this week starts. So I only painted the wall, a single pass, with a gentle technique with the brush, to be prepared paint it covered the surface very well, the wall is approximately 32 square meters or more. It took me 1 hour to complete this first section of painting and I left it drying in the sun for 1 hour as well. While the paint dried, I also began to prepare the interior wall of my house, this one is higher so it took me almost the entire hour to scrape off the paint. in poor condition and clean all the dust with water.
Pinté toda la pared sin incluir el portón, ese monstruo lo pintaré luego con pintura de óleo, necesita de mucho trabajo, como retirar la pintura vieja, lijar y ponerle fondo de herrería para que vuelva a lucir genial, ese trabajo me toca esta semana que comienza. Así que solo pinté la pared, una sola pasada, con una técnica suave con la brocha, para ser pintura preparada cubrió muy bien la superficie, la pared tiene aproximadamente unos 32 metros cuadrados o más. Tarde 1 hora en completar este primer tramo de pintura y dejé secando al sol también por 1 hora, mientras la pintura secaba, también comencé a preparar la pared interior de mi casa, esta es más alta así que tarde casi toda la hora en raspar pintura en mal estado y limpiar con agua todo el polvo.

The second pass was easier, applying the same technique I finished much faster, for a homemade paint the truth is that I was very convinced both by its development on the brush and the tone it reached after drying. I thought a third pass would be very necessary, but it really wasn't easy, to be able to fully appreciate the results I waited about 3 hours to detail the color and any imperfections that may have remained.
La segunda pasada fue más facil, aplicando la misma técnica terminé mucho más rápido, para ser pintura hecha en casa la verdad quede muy convencido tando por su desenvolvimiento en la brocha como el tono que alcanzó luego se secar. Pensé que sería muy necesario una tercera pasada, pero realmente no hizo facil, para poder apreciar bien los resultados espere unas 3 horas para detallar el color y las imperfecciones que pudieron haber quedado.

While I let the wall dry, I continued inside my house with the second wall. This one gave me more work since the wall is more than 3 meters long, and I spent a lot of time moving a heavy ladder from here to there. It was very exhausting having to go up and down every moment, the good thing about it was that the sun was harsh, so the paint didn't take long to dry until at this point it was already half a day. Fortunately, the wall was already clean so painting with the brush was easier, but at that moment the paint was starting to run out and I thought it wouldn't be enough.
Mientras dejaba secar la pared continué en el interior de mi casa con la segunda pared, esta me dio más trabajo ya que la pared mide mas de 3 metros, y me la pase moviendo una pesada escalera de aquí para alla. Fue muy agotador tener que subir y bajar en cada instante, lo bueno de todo es que el sol estaba inclemente, así que la pintura no duraba mucho para secar hasta este punto ya era medio día. La pared afortunadamente ya estaba limpia así que pintar con la brocha fue más facil, pero en ese momento la pintura comenzaba a agotarse y pensé que no sería suficiente.

Then I continued painting until I finished the first pass, I let the wall rest and continued with the second pass, the best of all is that the paint was enough for both walls, I calculated all the ingredients for the paint very well. Lastly, I only reserved a little paint for some areas that sometimes remain unpainted and can only be seen when the paint is very dry. Fortunately there weren't many and I was able to leave the wall in the best condition.
Luego seguí pintando hasta terminar la primera pasada, dejé reposar la pared y seguí con la segunda pasada, lo mejor de todo es que la pintura fue suficiente para ambas paredes, calculé muy bien todos los ingredientes para la pintura. Por último solo reservé un poco de pinturas para algunas zonas que a veces quedan sin pintar y que solo puedne verse cuando la pintura está muy seca. Afortunadamente no fueron muchas y pude dejar la pared en el mejor estado.

Apenas estoy comenzando, pero ya di el primer paso para pintar toda la casa, para el resto de pintura si utilizaré pintura pre fabricada, ya que son paredes que necesitan más atención y cuidados. Así es, por ejemplo. Se saca la clara de la sábila y se licúa hasta dejarla como un jugo, ahí se le pone a la mezcla. Es genial el resultado. Al pasar la mano por la pared la pintura no se cae
Que bonitas tradiciones tienen para estas fechas, no conocia la de pintar la casa, cuando ingrese a tu post crei que se trataria de una inversion pero me sorprendiste jeje es una genial idea y asi se mantiene bonita la casa todo el año.
Lo de la sábila tambien fue una sorpresa, cuando pintan mi casa se sale toda la pintura al tiempo, aunque nosotros la pintamos cada 20 años jaja pero es un buen dato, no se si habra de esa planta por aqui 👀 gracias por el tip.
