Queridos amigos y amigas creadores de cosas hermosas con sus manos y creatividad, es un gusto estar de vuelta con ustedes. Hoy les vengo a compartir un proyecto que me encanta, porque estoy en lo mío, la costura, además, es súper sencillo por lo que estoy segura que les encantará. Se trata de un delantal y aunque les parezca extraño, es la primera vez que realizo uno, y quien mejor para lucirlo que mi pequeña princesa.

Today I come to share with you a project that I love, because I'm in my thing, sewing, plus, it is super simple so I'm sure you will love it. It is an apron and although it may seem strange, it is the first time I make one, and who better to wear it than my little princess.
Los contextualizo un poco, resulta que mi hija menor, fue seleccionada junto a 4 de sus compañeritos de clase (la única niña, por cierto), para participar en un concurso de comida saludable en su escuela. Para el concurso, los niños debían llevar un platillo saludable y por supuesto, debían poder explicar al jurado el procedimiento de preparación, además, debían estar vestidos de chefs.
Let me give you some context, it turns out that my youngest daughter was selected along with 4 of her classmates (the only girl, by the way), to participate in a healthy eating contest at her school. For the contest, the children had to bring a healthy dish and of course, they had to be able to explain the preparation procedure to the jury, and they also had to be dressed as chefs.
Para complementar el atuendo le realice un delantal y un gorro de Chef, hoy solo explicaré el proceso de elaboración del delantal, para no hacer tan larga la publicación, más adelante les mostraré como elaborar el gorro de chef. Iniciaré mostrando los materiales, los cuales pueden detallar en la imagen ubicada antes de este párrafo, como pueden ver, no son muchos e incluso pueden elaborarlos a partir de alguna prenda de vestir que ya no utilicen. Eso sí, siempre deben usar algún tipo de tela gruesa, porque la idea es que proteja la ropa que tengan debajo, de alguna salpicadura.
To complement the outfit, I made an apron and a Chef's hat, today I will only explain the process of making the apron, so as not to make the publication so long, later I will show you how to make the chef's hat. I will start by showing you the materials, which you can see in the image located before this paragraph, as you can see, there are not many and you can even make them from a piece of clothing that you no longer use. Of course, you should always use some kind of thick fabric, because the idea is to protect the clothes underneath from any splashes.
Lo primero que deben realizar es el patrón y en la imagen que se encuentra arriba, pueden ver las dimensiones del delantal que realice, claro, en este caso se trata de uno para una niña de 6 años. Pero, es muy sencillos de elaborar para un adulto, solo es cuestión que adapten las medidas al tamaño que necesiten. Una vez, que se lo medí a mi hija y estuve conforme, en cuanto a las dimensiones del patrón, lo transferí a la tela.
The first thing to do is to make the pattern and in the image above, you can see the dimensions of the apron I made, of course, in this case it is one for a 6-year-old girl. But it is very easy to make for an adult, it is just a matter of adapting the measurements to the size you need. Once I measured it for my daughter and I was satisfied with the dimensions of the pattern, I transferred it to the fabric.
Una vez que termine de copiar el patrón en la tela rosada, que en este caso sería la que representaría el derecho del delantal, corte la pieza. Luego, realice lo mismo, pero en este caso en una tela con un diseño de pequeños cuadritos en rosado y blanco, esto lo hice, con la idea que pudiera ser reversible.
Once I finished copying the pattern on the pink fabric, which in this case would be the one that would represent the right side of the apron, cut the piece. Then, do the same, but in this case on a fabric with a design of small squares in pink and white, I did this with the idea that it could be reversible.
Ya había cortado las dos piezas que necesitaba para el delantal, así que, que las reserve para usarlas después. Ahora, debía ocuparme del bolcillo que colocaría en el frente, para ello simplemente corte un rectángulo de 18 cm de ancho, por 30 de largo. Seguidamente, doble la pieza y me quedo el bolsillo de 18x15 cm, rematé los 3 lados donde no quedo el doblez. En los bordes que había rematado coloque sesgo y luego pegue el bolsillo en la tela rosada de esa forma no se notaría las costuras.
I had already cut the two pieces I needed for the apron, so I set them aside for later. Now, I had to take care of the pocket that I would place on the front, so I simply cut a rectangle 18 cm wide by 30 cm long. Next, I folded the piece and I had a pocket of 18x15 cm, I finished off the 3 sides where the fold was not left. On the edges that I had finished off I placed bias binding and then glued the pocket on the pink fabric so that the seams would not be noticed.
Ya con el bolsillo fijado pase a unir las dos piezas del delantal y luego las remate juntas, esto por supuesto para que no se deshilachara la tela. Lo siguiente que hice fue colocar la cinta a nivel de la cintura y en la parte superior que se usaría para sujetarse alrededor del cuello.
With the pocket attached, I joined the two pieces of the apron and then stitched them together, this of course so that the fabric would not fray. The next thing I did was to place the ribbon at waist level and at the top that would be used to fasten around the neck.
Ahora sí, ya estamos casi listo, el último paso fue colocar alrededor de todo el contorno del delantal el mismo sesgo que ya había colocado en el bolsillo. Con esto, hemos llegado al final de este proyecto y como pudieron ver fue sumamente sencillo realizarlo, así que, no tienen excusa para realizarlo, espero se animen y me cuenten como les quedo.
Now we are almost ready, the last step was to place the same bias binding around the apron that I had already placed in the pocket. With this, we have reached the end of this project and as you could see it was very easy to do, so, you have no excuse to do it, I hope you dare and tell me how it turned out.
