Queridos lectores, siempre es un placer estar de vuelta con ustedes. Hoy vengo a compartir la elaboración de un proyecto al estilo retro, se trata de un accesorio para el cabello o tocado. Si ven imágenes de tiempos de antaño, verán a las damas vestidas con hermosos vestidos, primorosamente adornados con encajes y cintas; sus cabellos los adornaban con lindos accesorios o sombreros.
Dear readers, it is always a pleasure to be back with you. Today I come to share the making of a retro style project, this is a hair accessory or headdress. If you see pictures of old times, you will see the ladies dressed in beautiful dresses, beautifully adorned with lace and ribbons; their hair adorned with beautiful accessories or hats.
En lo particular, me encanta ese estilo de vestir, creo que tengo un alma vieja, jajaja, así que, cuando la maestra de preescolar de mi hija, me dijo que el cierre de proyecto de fin de año, estaría inspirado en la Venezuela de Antaño, me entusiasmé mucho. Tendría la oportunidad de vestir a mi niñita como toda una princesa y por supuesto debía realizarle un accesorio de acuerdo a la época, la única indicación de la maestra fue, que debía llevar plumas.
In particular, I love that style of dress, I think I have an old soul, hahaha, so when my daughter's preschool teacher told me that the end of the year project would be inspired by the Venezuela of yesteryear, I was very excited. I would have the opportunity to dress my little girl like a princess and of course I had to make her an accessory according to the era, the only indication of the teacher was that she had to wear feathers.
Empezaré por mostrarles los materiales que utilicé, los cuales pueden apreciar en la imagen anterior. Como ya les mencioné la maestra no dio mayores especificaciones del como debía ser el accesorio que llevarían las niñas en el cabello, solo dijo que todas deberían llevan plumas. Así que, revise entre mis materiales y encontré unas cuantas cosas que me servían y que, además, combinaban con el vestido que le realice a mi princesa.
I will start by showing you the materials I used, which you can see in the image above. As I mentioned before, the teacher didn't give any specifications on how the girls should wear their hair accessories, she just said that they should all wear feathers. So, I looked through my materials and found a few things that worked for me and also matched the dress I made for my princess.
Lo primero que hice, fue realizar un anillo de encaje, para ello, tome hilo y agujas y pase una costura sencilla por el borde del encaje y luego hale el hilo para arruchar el encaje. Una vez arruchado aseguré la costura y uní los dos extremos del encaje y con esto, como pueden ver en la imagen el anillo de encaje quedo listo.
The first thing I did was to make a lace ring, for this, I took thread and needles and made a simple stitch along the edge of the lace and then pulled the thread to gather the lace. Once the lace was gathered, I secured the seam and joined the two ends of the lace and with this, as you can see in the image, the lace ring was ready.
Luego tome una rosa de tela en un hermoso color melón y con silicón caliente la pegue a el anillo de encaje que realicé previamente. Seguidamente, corté unos trocitos de distintos tamaños de perla corrida y los fui pegando entre los pétalos de la rosa. Además, del tocado que le realicé a mi hija mayor para su comunión, me sobro, algo que llaman aquí, lluvia de flores, entonces tomé unas hebras las corté y también la entremetí por los pétalos de la flor.
Then I took a fabric rose in a beautiful melon color and with hot silicone I glued it to the lace ring I had previously made. Then, I cut some small pieces of different sizes of pearl and glued them between the petals of the rose. Also, from the headdress I made for my eldest daughter for her communion, I had some leftover, something they call here, rain of flowers, so I took some strands, cut them and also glued them between the petals of the flower.
Paso seguido corte un círculo en cinta de raso y lo coloque en la parte de atrás del encaje, con esto, no solo lo dejaba más prolijo, sino, además, le daba fortaleza a las uniones y tenia una mejor base para seguir trabajando, en el siguiente paso.
Next, I cut a circle of satin ribbon and placed it on the back of the lace. This not only made it neater, but also made the joints stronger and gave me a better base to continue working on the next step.
Llego el momento de cumplir con la solicitud de la maestra, colocar las plumas en el tocado, en mi caso, aunque las plumas se pueden comprar en cualquier mercería, o tienda de materiales para manualidades, yo preferí realizar mis propias plumas. Realmente, son muy sencillas de hacer y me pareció más acorde con lo que necesitaba, aquí les dejo el link para que vean como se realizan. Como ya había realizado las plumas previamente, simplemente las fui distribuyendo tratando de darle cierta sensación de movimiento, quedando como se lo muestro en las imágenes.
It was time to fulfill the teacher's request, place the feathers on the headdress, in my case, although the feathers can be purchased at any haberdashery or craft store, I preferred to make my own feathers. Really, they are very simple to make and it seemed more in line with what I needed, here I leave the link so you can see how to make them. As I had already made the feathers previously, I simply distributed them trying to give them some sense of movement, as shown in the images.
Para darle un poco de volumen, decidí añadir un poco de tul, material que, era muy común que se usara en esa época, aunque, principalmente se colocaba en forma de una especie de pequeño velo, que le daba un aspecto muy romántico, por cierto. Sin embargo, en esta ocasión, no lo quise usar de esa manera porque me pareció que sería muy incomodo para mi hija, recuerden, que aun debemos cuidarnos y por lo tanto debía colocarse la mascarilla o tapa bocas. Entonces lo coloque, simplemente detrás de las plumas para que sobre saliera, como pueden ver en las imágenes.
To give it a little volume, I decided to add some tulle, a material that was very common to be used at that time, although it was mainly placed in the form of a kind of small veil, which gave it a very romantic look, by the way. However, on this occasion, I did not want to use it that way because I thought it would be very uncomfortable for my daughter, remember, that we still have to take care of ourselves and therefore she had to wear the mask or mouth cover. So I simply placed it behind the feathers so that it would come out, as you can see in the pictures.
Como paso final le coloque la pinza con la cual sujetarla al cabello, para ello tome una pinza metálica de presión de las más sencillas y la forre con cinta de raso. Seguidamente, con silicón caliente la fije al tocado con esto ya estaba listo el trabajo.
As a final step I placed the clip to hold it to the hair, for this I took a simple metal pressure clip and lined it with satin ribbon. Then, with hot silicone I attached it to the headdress and the job was done.
