Happy weekend, dear creative hivers. I hope your weekend has already started on a good note. For some of us, this is when we take our needed break after a very busy or stressful week. We also get to spend more time with family and friends, generally enjoying the weekend, and get refreshed for the new week.

Early this week, I shared about the process of the traditional Kimono jacket I made for my aunt, whose birthday is today. We are here as a family to celebrate with her. I would also be handling my two-piece outfit I made for her as well. It feels so exciting to be surrounded by friends and loved ones on her special day.

It's a two-piece set because I decided to make a pallazzo pant to complete the set, and today I will walk you through the process as well. Trousers are one of the easiest patterns to create and design. Once you understand the basic pattern-making process, the rest is easy-peasy, and it also doesn't take too much time to get it completed. Thankfully, I had enough fabric left, so without further ado, let's get right into the making process.

Materials Used

Ankara fabric
Zipper
Matching coloured thread
Cutting And Sewing Process

I started by cutting out the front trouser pattern, shaping out the waist, hip, crotch area and length of the trousers.
Using the front pattern, I extended it to cut out the trouser back pattern, as the back of the trouser is always bigger than the front, to enable the trousers to sit well on our sides properly. Also, this is where all the seam allowance goes.

- Next, I cut out the pocket patterns

Continuing, I sewed the crotch area of the front and back of the trousers,
I also sewed the pockets to both sides of the front

- Then I cut out the waistband, which I sewed around the waist area of the front and back trouser pattern after holding in the dart.

- I sewed the sides of the trousers, and also the seam area

- Finally, I sewed the zipper to the backside of the trousers, and closed up the waistband by top stitching it, hemmed its end, and that completes the making process of the trousers.
What I love about this is how versatile they will be for her; she could style them up with a different top and different trousers for the kimono jacket, and they could also go as a pair. Isn't that amazing?
I hope you enjoyed and learned something new from this trouser-making process.
