Greetings hivers and community in general #HiveDIY, today I have brought you a simple tutorial and pattern to make tendrils and wear them during the month of October, the month of Halloween. In my country that is not celebrated, although I celebrate it on my own because I do like that holiday. Handmade jewelry is beautiful and unique, and if you make it yourself, so much the better. A long time ago I learned to do this technique called "Brick Stitch". It is a very popular technique in other countries, but very little known in Venezuela. Brick Stitch" uses calibrated beads, I have not found them in my city, nor in nearby cities, I found them in MercadoLibre, but they are expensive. You have to be creative with what you have, I have beads, so I do everything I can with those beads, never let yourself be defeated by not having everything precisely the same as how they show it on the internet. I took the time to select the best beads I had and set aside the irregular beads, so I could make more beautiful tendrils. The important thing is to learn and do what we are most passionate about and make them as neat as possible with the materials we have at our disposal.
Saludos hivers y comunidad en general #HiveDIY, el día de hoy les he traído un tutorial y patrón sencillo, para hacer zarcillos y lucirlos todo el mes de octubre, mes de Halloween. En mi país eso no se celebra, aunque lo celebro por mi cuenta porque a mí sí me gusta esa festividad. Las joyas artesanales son hermosas y únicas, y sí son hechas por uno mismo, mucho mejor. Hace mucho tiempo aprendí a hacer esta técnica llamada "Brick Stitch" que en español significa "Punto ladrillo". Es una técnica muy popular en otros países, pero muy poco conocida en Venezuela. En el "Brick Stitch" se utilizan mostacillas calibradas, no las he conseguido en mi ciudad, ni en ciudades cerca, por MercadoLibre conseguí, pero están costosas. Hay que ser creativos con lo que se tenga, tengo mostacillas, pues hago todo lo que pueda con esas mostacillas, nunca hay que dejarse vencer por no tener todo precisamente igual al cómo lo muestran en internet. Me tomé el rato para seleccionar las mejores mostacillas que tenía y aparté las mostacillas irregulares, para así lograr hacer unos zarcillos más bonitos. Lo importante es aprender y hacer lo más nos apasiona y hacer que nos queden lo más prolijo posible con los materiales que tenemos a nuestro alcance.
👻MATERIAL USED/MATERIAL USADO👻:
- Beads: 118 white and 6 black.
- 2 large silver-colored beads.
- 2 rings for costume jewelry.
- 2 hooks for costume jewelry.
- Transparent nylon no. 23.
- Needle for beads.
- Tweezers.
I made the pattern with a free program called "Esquemas y Patrones" from Abalorios.es. I insert a YouTube video, so you can learn about this craft. 💙BRICK STITCH O PUNTADA LADRILLO/INCREASES AND DECREASES:
- Mostacillas: 118 blancas y 6 negras.
- 2 Mostacillas grandes de color plateado.
- 2 argollas para bisutería.
- 2 anzuelos para bisutería.
- Nailon transparente nro. 23.
- Aguja para mostacillas.
- Pinzas.
Les hice el patrón con un programa gratuito llamado "Esquemas y Patrones" de Abalorios.es. Les inserto un video de YouTube, para que aprendan sobre este arte. 💙BRICK STITCH O PUNTADA LADRILLO/AUMENTOS Y DISMINUCIONES:
👻PROCESS/PROCESO👻:
- Cut 1 meter of nylon yarn.
- With the help of the needle we insert several times a bead of another color, this will be a "knot" so that the beads do not run. Then, in the first row we insert 3 white beads.
- Cortamos 1 metro de hilo nailon.
- Con ayuda de la aguja insertamos varias veces una mostacilla de otro color, este será un "nudo" para que no se corran las mostacillas. Luego, en la primera fila insertamos 3 mostacillas blancas.
- Row 2: Insert 4 white beads.
- Row 3: Insert 8 white beads.
- Fila 2: Insertamos 4 mostacillas blancas.
- Fila 3: Insertamos 8 mostacillas blancas.
- Row 4: Insert two white beads, one black bead and 6 white beads.
- Row 5: Insert 5 white beads, 1 black bead, 4 white beads, 1 large bead with the ring.
- Fila 4: Insertamos dos mostacillas blancas, una mostacilla negra y 6 mostacillas blancas.
- Fila 5: Insertamos 5 mostacillas blancas, una mostacilla negra, 4 mostacillas blancas, 1 mostacilla grande con la argolla.
- Row 6: 2 white beads, 1 black bead, 7 white beads.
- Row 7: 10 white beads.
- Fila 6: 2 mostacillas blancas, 1 mostacilla negra, 7 mostacillas blancas.
- Fila 7: 10 mostacillas blancas.
- Row 8: We go to the end and insert a bead, skip a bead, and then insert 4 beads.
- Row 9: Insert 3 beads.
The remaining thread we hide it all over the figure.
- Fila 8: Nos vamos al final e insertamos una mostacilla, saltamos una mostacilla, y luego insertamos 4 mostacillas.
- Fila 9: Insertamos 3 mostacillas.
El hilo sobrante lo escondemos por toda la figura.
And that's it, we have our beautiful pair of earrings to wear them on Halloween or whenever you want, you can even add it to the list of things you can sell, they don't take much time and you don't spend so much.
