¡Hola, chicos! Hoy quise traer algo que no compartía desde hace un tiempo: un dibujito de mi autoría que hice con mucho amor y cariño para una persona muy especial para mí: mi pareja.
Hi, guys! Today I wanted to share something I hadn’t posted in a while: a little drawing of my own creation that I made with lots of love and care for someone very special to me—my partner.
No sabía si subir este dibujo porque no tenía suficientes fotografías del paso a paso, pero aun así quise compartirlo con ustedes. Es un dibujo muy especial y con mucho valor emocional para mí, así que tuve el deseo de presumirlo un poco o dejarlo registrado de alguna manera.
I wasn’t sure whether to upload this drawing because I didn’t have enough step-by-step photos, but I still wanted to share it with you. It’s a very special piece with deep emotional value for me, so I felt the urge to show it off a little or at least leave it documented in some way.
La verdad, no sé si a mi pareja le gustó. Quizá pudo haber quedado un poco simple, pero yo soy muy mala dibujando personas, y mucho más cuerpos con posturas o posiciones en particular. Por eso mismo siento que quedó muy, muy bien para haber sido hecho por mí, y estoy muy orgullosa de ello. Además, se lo obsequié con todo el amor y las buenas intenciones del mundo, y al final creo que eso es lo que importa.
Honestly, I don’t know if my partner liked it. Maybe it turned out a bit simple, but I’m really bad at drawing people, and even more so bodies in specific poses or positions. That’s exactly why I feel it turned out really, really well considering it was made by me, and I’m very proud of it. Besides, I gifted it with all the love and good intentions in the world, and in the end, I think that’s what truly matters.

Lo primero que hice fue trazar el boceto. Si por algo se caracteriza mi pareja es por sentarse de manera bastante cómoda y por estar muy en contacto con la naturaleza y la vegetación (estar en contacto con la Pachamama, como dice ella). Así que decidí hacerla sentada sobre un cúmulo de césped y aprovechar dicho espacio para añadir flores amarillas, blancas y algunos dientes de león silvestres.
The first thing I did was sketch the outline. One thing that defines my partner is how comfortably she sits and how deeply connected she is to nature and vegetation (being in touch with the Pachamama, as she says). So I decided to draw her sitting on a patch of grass and used that space to add yellow and white flowers, along with a few wild dandelions.

Hay un tipo específico de flores amarillas silvestres que me recuerdan mucho a ella y a nuestros inicios como pareja. En verdad, me encanta mucho esa flor. Creo que internamente la vinculé directamente con ella y todos esos momentos tiernos que hemos pasado.
There’s a specific type of wild yellow flower that reminds me a lot of her and of our early days as a couple. I truly love that flower—it feels like I’ve subconsciously linked it to her and all those sweet moments we’ve shared.
En fin, también le di forma a su hermoso cabello corto y rizado, y le añadí un montón de flores que me encantan. Es algo que siempre he querido hacer, pero que no había llegado a intentar: adornar su precioso cabello con flores.
Anyway, I also shaped her beautiful short curly hair and added a bunch of flowers I love. It’s something I’ve always wanted to do but hadn’t tried before: decorating her lovely hair with flowers.
Le puse su ropa más icónica o recurrente, y como una de las cosas que más amo ver que ella hace es comer sandía, decidí agregarla también.
I dressed her in her most iconic or frequently worn outfit, and since one of the things I love most is watching her eat watermelon, I decided to include that too.
Sigue el entintado. En mi caso, uso un bolígrafo roller y, de verdad, desde que lo probé estoy súper enamorada de él. Solo que tiene el detalle de que se corre al caerle agua (por lo que no podría entintarse y usarse con acuarelas), y también se corre si se agrega encima del color. Así que preferí entintar mi dibujo antes de todo para después aplicar magia con el color.
Next comes the inking. In my case, I use a rollerball pen and honestly, ever since I tried it, I’ve been completely in love with it. The only downside is that it smudges when water touches it (so it can’t be used with watercolors), and it also smears if applied over colored areas. So I preferred to ink my drawing first and then work the magic with color afterward.
Quise empezar por dar un poco de color a la boca y a los trozos de sandía que tenía en las mejillas, porque era quizás lo que más me preocupaba que se viera bien. Usando color carmín y salmón, pude colorear esos trozos y posteriormente también los hermosos labios de mi pareja, que se caracteriza por tener el superior más grande.
I wanted to start by adding a bit of color to the mouth and the watermelon pieces on the cheeks, since that was probably the part I was most worried about getting right. Using carmine and salmon tones, I colored those pieces and then moved on to my partner’s beautiful lips, which are notably fuller on the upper lip.
Algo que caracteriza mis procesos de coloreado es que voy dando toques de color para recordar cuál tono específico le corresponde a cada cosa. Se los informo por si acaso ven un inicio de coloreado bastante raro.
One thing that defines my coloring process is that I add little touches of color to remind myself which specific tone goes where. I mention this just in case the early stages of coloring look a bit strange.
Una de las cosas más interesantes de colorear para mí son las pieles. No sé bien cómo hacerlo, pero es lindo experimentar, y eso hice con la piel de mi pareja. Utilicé un tono arena, luego un durazno y un poco de salmón para las zonas que llevan un poco más de sombra o en las que busco generar algo de profundidad.Por ejemplo, en la zona del cuello le coloco la sombra debajo de la cabeza, degradándola un poco para que sea bastante sutil y no una mancha plana y brusca. También alrededor del rostro y debajo del cabello, las orejas y demás. También un poco de rubor, y aproveché para añadirle la base de las pecas con color café oscuro, tratando de hacerlo lo más pequeñito y firme posible, porque necesito que sean puntos definidos, no manchas extrañas.
One of the most interesting things to color for me is skin. I’m not entirely sure how to do it, but I enjoy experimenting, and that’s what I did with my partner’s skin. I used a sand tone, then peach, and a bit of salmon for the areas that needed more shading or depth. For example, on the neck area, I placed the shadow beneath the head, blending it gently so it’s subtle and not a harsh, flat mark. I did the same around the face, under the hair, on the ears, and so on. I also added a bit of blush and took the opportunity to lay down the base for freckles using dark brown, trying to make them as tiny and precise as possible, because I need them to look like defined dots, not random smudges.
Pigmenté un poco la camisa color aqua (amo cómo le sienta ese color) y decidí dar color a la sandía, ya que es un elemento bastante importante. Quise invertirle un poco más de esfuerzo; además, quería que se viera lo más apetitosa y linda posible. Ocupé un color verde pastel, un verde oscuro, un tono arena para el aro de la sandía, un carmín y un poco de marrón rojizo en la mancha que busca emular el espacio en donde ya se han tomado varias cucharadas de sandía.
I added some pigment to the aqua-colored shirt (I love how that color suits her), and decided to color the watermelon since it’s a pretty important element. I wanted to put in a bit more effort and make it look as tasty and cute as possible. I used pastel green, dark green, a sand tone for the rind, carmine, and a touch of reddish brown to represent the spot where several bites of watermelon had already been taken.
Como las flores también eran un elemento súper importante, quise adelantarlas un poco para saber cómo se verían después de colorearlas. Quedaron muy bonitas. Utilicé un color amarillo un poco más oscuro, y como no quise usar un naranja para dar sombras, textura y profundidad, usé un salmón para que se viera más tenue, encima del amarillo en el centro, la base de los pétalos y el botón central de las florecitas blancas.
Since the flowers were also a super important element, I wanted to get ahead and color them a bit to see how they’d look. They turned out really pretty. I used a slightly darker yellow, and since I didn’t want to use orange for shadows, texture, and depth, I went with salmon to keep it soft—layered over the yellow in the center, at the base of the petals, and on the central button of the little white flowers.
Como les mencioné, no tengo muchas fotos del paso a paso, así que hay una laguna muy grande en el proceso de coloreado, pero aun así les seguiré explicando al menos.
As I mentioned, I don’t have many step-by-step photos, so there’s a big gap in the coloring process, but I’ll keep explaining as best I can.
Con el color azul hice la base del color de la camisa (coloreando bastante suave) y luego matizé con un aqua.
For the shirt, I used blue as the base color (applied very softly), and then blended in some aqua.
Para los pantalones ocupé un gris azulado combinado con un plateado tradicional para que se viera como mezclilla. En los dobleces de los ruedos del pantalón solo apliqué plateado de forma muy suave.
Para los zapatos usé el gris azulado de base y matizé con un azul pastel. Además, vi como un detalle bonito añadir volumen y textura a los calcetines. Aunque en la foto no se note, les hice unas pequeñas rayas que dan ese efecto.
For the pants, I used bluish gray combined with traditional silver to make it look like denim. On the folds at the cuffs of the pants, I only applied silver very lightly. For the shoes, I used bluish gray as the base and blended it with pastel blue. I also thought it would be a nice touch to add volume and texture to the socks. Even though it’s not visible in the photo, I drew tiny stripes to create that effect.
Para la vegetación usé un color verde manzana bastante intenso, y lo apliqué en forma de círculos pequeñitos. Luego hice lo mismo con un color más oscuro para que tuviera profundidad. También apliqué los mismos colores en los tallos y las hojas, y les di un toquecito de amarillo para que resalten más.
For the vegetation, I used a vibrant apple green and applied it in tiny circular strokes. Then I did the same with a darker green to add depth. I also used those same colors on the stems and leaves, and added a touch of yellow to make them pop more.
Para los dientes de león usé un azul pastel para difuminar alrededor y dibujar varias rayitas que simulen la estructura del diente. Seguidamente, dibujé el centro y una continuación tenue del tallo con un verde pastel, muy suavemente, para que se viera como si estuviera por debajo de todas esas pelusitas. Ah, y también les di un poco de sombra a las florecitas blancas con gris azulado y un poco de azul pastel.
For the dandelions, I used pastel blue to softly blend around them and drew several fine lines to mimic the structure of the seed head. Then I drew the center and a faint continuation of the stem with pastel green, very gently, so it would look like it’s beneath all those fluffy strands. Oh, and I also added a bit of shadow to the little white flowers using bluish gray and a touch of pastel blue.
Coloreé las flores en su cabecita, y coloreé su cabello y cejas con un café oscuro. A las cejas las hice con rayas pequeñas para hacerlas ver más bonitas, y agregué al cabello el café oscuro como base para dar profundidad, y un color café más claro para dar brillo y textura. Dejé espacios en blanco para simular los brillos de su cabello. De verdad, me encantó cómo se ve.
I colored the flowers on her head, and I colored her hair and eyebrows with a dark brown. I drew the eyebrows with small strokes to make them look prettier, and I used the dark brown as a base for the hair to add depth, then added a lighter brown to give it shine and texture. I left some white spaces to simulate the highlights in her hair. Honestly, I loved how it turned out.
Para una de las cosas más hermosas que tiene el rostro de mi pareja, sus ojos ✨, decidí usar una mezcla rara de colores: un marrón rojizo, un ocre, un amarillo mostaza y un verde. Y aun así siento que mi dibujo no le hizo justicia a esos hermosos ojos, pero lo hice lo mejor que pude, ¡lo juro! 🤣
One of the most beautiful features on my partner’s face—her eyes ✨—inspired me to use a unique mix of colors: reddish brown, ochre, mustard yellow, and green. And even then, I feel like my drawing didn’t do justice to those gorgeous eyes, but I did the best I could, I swear!
Por último, quise hacer el cielo azul en degradación, del color más claro abajo al más oscuro arriba, pero luego se me ocurrió hacer un fondo un poco más colorido con colores pasteles. Usé lavanda, aqua, azul y toquecitos de rosa.
Lastly, I wanted to create a gradient blue sky, going from the lightest shade at the bottom to the darkest at the top. But then I had the idea to make the background a bit more colorful using pastel tones. I used lavender, aqua, blue, and little touches of pink.
Y este es el resultado de mi dibujo. Me fascinó. Para mí, quedó bastante bien tomando en cuenta que no soy experta dibujando personas.
And this is the final result of my drawing. I’m fascinated by it. For me, it turned out pretty well, especially considering I’m not an expert at drawing people.
