Hola hola comunidad 💕, hace un semana aproximadamente estuve participando en una iniciativa con temática del mes rosa donde realicé uno marcalibros de concientización, me gustó tanto la manualidad realizada y me sentí tan agusto haciéndola que pensé que podría aventurarme en hacer otro pero con una temática diferente, no tuve que pensar demasiado para saber de qué quería hacer éste nuevo marcalibros, y es que Orgullo y Prejuicio no solo es mi película favorita sino que está inspirada en uno de mis libros favoritos (que de hecho tengo en físico), así que la idea tomó forma casi que sola, y es por eso que hoy les muestro cómo la lleve a cabo.
Hello hello community 💕, About a week ago, I took part in an initiative themed around Pink Month, where I made an awareness bookmark. I enjoyed the craft so much and felt so comfortable doing it that I thought I could venture into making another one but with a different theme. I didn't have to think too hard to know what I wanted to make this new bookmark, Pride and Prejudice is not only my favourite film, but it is also inspired by one of my favourite books (which I actually own in physical form), so the idea took shape almost on its own, and that is why today I am showing you how I made it.
Lo primero que hice fue decidirme sobre qué iría el marcalibros, si de la película o del libro, porque ciertamente la película no es del todo fiel a la historia original en el sentido de que hay escenas nuevas, diálogos que no están en el libro y otros detalles pequeños, aparte para éste punto yo no recuerdo del todo lo que ocurre en el libro (porque hace 10 años que lo leí), así teniendo eso en cuenta tome la decisión de inspirarme específicamente en la película y en base a eso buscar imágenes de referencia.
Nuevamente el material estrella es la cartulina y los marcadores, así que comencé marcando dos rectángulos de 6x16cm en la cartulina y además dibujé una línea guía justo en el centro vertical y horizontal de ambos rectángulos, para hacer más sencillo ubicar los dibujos.
The first thing I did was decide what the bookmark would be about, whether it would be based on the film or the book, because the film is certainly not entirely faithful to the original story in the sense that there are new scenes, dialogue that is not in the book and other small details. Apart from that, I don't remember everything that happens in the book (because I read it 10 years ago). So, with that in mind, I decided to take my inspiration specifically from the film and look for reference images based on that.
Once again, the main materials are card and markers, so I started by marking two 6x16cm rectangles on the card and also drew a guide line right in the vertical and horizontal centre of both rectangles to make it easier to position the drawings.
El primer dibujo fue muy fácil de elegir porque se trata de la escena de la mano, creo que todos los que hemos visto ésta película sabemos a qué escena me refiero y lo icónica e importante que es dentro de la historia 😍, era sencillamente imposible no incluirla en éste marcalibros. Cuando realice el boceto no me gustó del todo, así que solo diré que lo borré varias veces y el que ven en la imagen fue el más decente.
Para el reverso del marcalibros, elegí un dibujo de la escena del baile, me parece que esa es una secuencia preciosa y éste boceto en particular me gustó desde el primer momento, a pesar de que se me hizo un poquito complicado al inicio.
The first drawing was very easy to choose because it is the hand scene. I think everyone who has seen this film knows which scene I am referring to and how iconic and important it is within the story 😍. It was simply impossible not to include it in this bookmark. When I made the sketch, I didn't like it very much, so I'll just say that I erased it several times and the one you see in the image was the most decent one.
For the back of the bookmark, I chose a drawing of the dance scene. I think it's a beautiful sequence, and I liked this particular sketch from the start, even though it was a little complicated at first.

Con los bocetos listos me pasé a colorear con mis marcadores, y como siempre ésta fue la mejor parte de todas 😂 amo colorear con marcadores. Después de ésto remarque todo el contorno de los dibujos con lapicero de tinta negra (que es lo que termina de dar el toque), inicialmente sólo iba a escribir Orgullo y Prejuicio con marcador azul y listo, pero después decidí añadir un escrito más, así que busqué en inglés (porque ocupaba menos espacio 😂) una de mis frases favoritas de la película. Recorté ambos rectángulos y los pegué dejando que se secaran aplastados por varios libros.
With the sketches ready, I moved on to colouring with my markers, and as always, this was the best part of all 😂 I love colouring with markers. After that, I outlined the entire drawing with black ink pen (which is what gives it the finishing touch). Initially, I was only going to write Pride and Prejudice in blue marker and that would be it, but then I decided to add some more writing, so I looked up one of my favourite quotes from the film in English (because it took up less space 😂). I cut out both rectangles and glued them down, letting them dry flat under several books.

I think I'm developing a new obsession with bookmarks 😂. I love making them, and I especially loved this one. Not only do I think it turned out beautifully, but now that I'm considering rereading the book, it would be a lovely little detail to accompany me as I read 💖.
