El papel elegido para la cubierta tiene una textura de lienzo y una estampación simulando pinceladas de acuarela en tonos turquesas, rosas y mostaza. Está canteado con un papel negro al que le di brillo barnizándolo. Rematando este canto, una pasamanería blanca de madroños pequeñitos. Para finalizar, una lazada de satén negro cierra el libro elegantemente.

We are going to decorate the cover of the photo album of the photo session we had at home. It is a large format book, with a simple structure and decoration. The paper chosen for the cover has a canvas texture and a print simulating watercolour brushstrokes in shades of turquoise, pink and mustard. It is edged with a black paper that I glossed by varnishing it. Finishing off this edge, a white trimming of tiny strawberry trees. Finally, a black satin bow elegantly closes the book.
Para decorar la cubierta lo primero es elegir el tipo de material que vamos a utilizar. Como quiero que siga con la sencillez en la decoración, elegiremos los mismos colores y materiales que en el libro: el papel decorado con acuarela, el negro liso mate y añadiremos un rústico yute negro, para que contraste con lo fino del satén del lazo.
To decorate the cover, the first thing is choose the type of material we are going to use. As I want to keep the decoration simple, we will choose the same colours and materials as in the book: paper decorated with watercolour, plain matt black and we will add a rustic black jute, to contrast with the fine satin of the ribbon.
Me costó decidirme por el tipo de elemento que crearía para la decoración. Comencé con la idea de unos lirios, incluso los troquelé y comencé a montarlos y encolarlos, pero no me convencía del todo, pues quedaban unas flores de gran volumen, algo que iba en contra de la sencillez que buscaba. Deseché esta idea, aunque la reservo para otro proyecto, que seguro que le irá genial.
I had a hard time deciding on the type of element I would create for the decoration. I started with the idea of some lilies, I even die-cut them and started to assemble and glue them, but I wasn't completely convinced, as the flowers were too big, something that went against the simplicity I was looking for. I discarded this idea, although I'm saving it for another project, which I'm sure will be great for it.
Pensé en unos sencillos corazones, de diferentes tamaños. Troquelaría unos cuantos, usando los distintos materiales elegidos. Realmente no tenía claro aún cómo los distribuiría en la portada. A veces (casi siempre) esto del scrapbooking es probar e improvisar.
I thought of simple hearts, in different sizes. I would die-cut a few of them, using the different materials chosen. I wasn't really sure yet how I would distribute them on the cover. Sometimes (almost always) scrapbooking is all about trying and improvising.

Estuve probando diferentes opciones para distribuir los corazones. Al final me decidí por un diseño en el que pareciera que los corazones cruzasen la portada, como si se fuesen volando.

Fuimos pegando los corazones con cuidado, para que no se saliese la cola por los lados (queda horrible), para ello nos podemos ayudar de un paño que recoge cualquier resto, evitando las manchas (un buen truco).
Otro detalle es el corazón de abajo del todo, que lo recorto para dar la sensación de que "sale" desde abajo.
We glued the hearts carefully, so that the glue doesn't come out from the sides (it looks horrible), so we can use a cloth to help us pick up any residue, avoiding stains (a good trick).
Another detail is the heart at the bottom, which I cut out to give the sensation that it "comes out" from below.
Para darle movimiento al conjunto, regruesamos algunos corazones, con espuma adhesiva, jugando con distintos grosores, y combinándolos en la portada.
