Hola amigos de la comunidad de HiveDiy, hoy comparto con ustedes un paso a paso del coloreado de un hermoso búho que pertenece a mi libro de Arteterapia Cores da Floresta.
Para iniciar, elegí este búho como un desafío, pues no tenía idea de que colores usar ni por donde comenzar. Así que me valí de una imagen de referencia para tener ideas, recordando que el uso correcto de referencias para colorear estos dibujos es para apenas inspirarse y no para copiar exactamente el estilo, en realidad no sería relajante ni quedaría bonito, pues la creatividad propia se nota cuando coloreamos, esta fluye y nos sirve de terapia.
Encontré una imagen de un búho al estilo mandala, que tenía una paleta de colores en varios azules, me llamo la atencion pues yo no soy muy buena para manejar este color en sus diversas tonalidades, más bien me gustan los verdes, asi que decidi desafiarme a mí misma tanto con el tipo de dibujo como con la paleta de colores, y así me puse manos a la obra, escogí mis colores, y comencé.
Coloring an Owl with patterns and references. Step by Step.
Hello friends of the HiveDiy community, today I share with you a step by step coloring of a beautiful owl that belongs to my Arteterapia Cores da Floresta book.
To begin with, I chose this owl as a challenge, because I had no idea what colors to use or where to start. So I used a reference image to get ideas, remembering that the correct use of references to color these drawings is just to get inspired and not to copy exactly the style, because in fact it would not be relaxing and it would not look nice, because our own creativity is noticed when we color, it flows and serves us as therapy.
I found an image of an owl in mandala style, which had a palette of colors in various blues, it caught my attention because I am not very good at handling this color in its various shades, I rather like the greens, so I decided to challenge myself both with the type of drawing as with the color palette, and so I got down to work, I chose my colors, and began.
Paso a paso / Step by Step
- Observe detenidamente el dibujo para buscar por dónde comenzar.
I looked closely at the drawing to see where to start.
- Elegi colorear el pecho del buho de color marron, muy parecido al color natural de estas aves, simulando las plumas.
I chose to color the chest of the owl in brown, very similar to the natural color of these birds, simulating the feathers.
- Luego pase a colorear el rostro, quise hacer una degradado suave incorporando el primer tono de azul, contrastando con el marrón del cuerpo. Coloree la base del rostro y la parte superior.
Then I colored the face, I wanted to make a soft gradient incorporating the first tone of blue, contrasting with the brown of the body. I colored the base of the face and the upper part.
- Para el patrón que tienen los ojos empecé con el borde externo con un tono de azul y luego el interior del patrón del ojo con plateado, y la pupila con azul royal.
For the eye pattern I started with the outer rim with a shade of blue and then the inside of the eye pattern with silver, and the pupil with royal blue.
- Complete el coloreado del rostro con un azul pastel muy suave haciendo sombras y degradados para darle más luz alrededor de los ojos.
Complete the coloring of the face with a very soft pastel blue making shadows and gradients to give more light around the eyes.
- Finalice el rostro coloreando el pico con un color naranja suave.
Finish the face by coloring the beak with a soft orange color.
- A continuación pase a colorear el patrón de formas que tienen las plumas, alternando varios colores de azul, plateado y marrón. Cuidando la simetría para que ambos lados quedaran iguales y parejos.
Then color the pattern of feather shapes, alternating various colors of blue, silver and brown. Taking care of the symmetry so that both sides were equal and even.
Descanse de este dibujo por unos días y lo retome luego para completar los demás detalles que contiene, como la rama donde se sostiene el búho, y los patrones del borde inferior de la hoja.
Y ya terminando, incorpore algunos lineas de colores pasteles y coloree el fondo el dibujo con las birutas de los lapices de color que quedan cuando le saco punta, frotandolas con mis dedos y dando un aspecto muy leve como de nube.
I rested from this drawing for a few days and then took it up again to complete the other details it contains, such as the branch where the owl is held, and the patterns on the lower edge of the leaf.
And finishing, I incorporated some lines of pastel colors and colored the background of the drawing with the shavings of the colored pencils that are left when I remove the paint, rubbing them with my fingers and giving a very light aspect like a cloud.
Asi quedo mi dibujo, fue muy satisfactorio terminarlo pues resultó ser algo fuera de mi zona de confort, para mi es mas facil colorear la naturaleza simple sin patrones, por eso no soy fan de las mandalas, pero este búho tan tierno me pisco el ojo y decidí arriesgarme, al final valió mucho el esfuerzo, pues el resultado me dejó muy bien de ánimo y satisfecha de terminar algo que inicie y que era un desafío.
It was very satisfying to finish it because it turned out to be something out of my comfort zone, for me it is easier to color simple nature without patterns, that's why I'm not a fan of mandalas, but this cute owl caught my eye and I decided to take the risk, in the end it was worth the effort, because the result left me in good spirits and satisfied to finish something that I started and that was a challenge.

Que hermoso @mariale07 esos colores pasteles y la combinación que hiciste le dieron un toque muy particular a ese buo. Si siento paz y relax de solo ver el dibujo, me quiero imaginar el efecto de colorearlo,Voy a pensar seriamente esto de los dibujos y colores, lo llevo en la sangre tu sabes jajaja.
