Greetings everyone in this amazing community @hivediy. How are you all doing today? I hope you all are doing pretty good. I am very happy to share a post gere in this community today which is all about changing the car dashboard to new.
This post is very interesting to go through because going through this post you will see the impossible thing turn real. In normal sense most of people dont know is possible to change the fabric of car dashboard, that is why most of the people prefer buying a dashboard cover which do not beautifer the car. Changing the dashboard fabric is the best but to see someone that do a neat work is always a problem.
Here is the dashboard before.
Here is the finish work
Let look at some steps i follow to change the old car dashboard to you.
Firstly before i get started, i pay electrician to loose the dashboard for me, i then transport it to my shop for the work to be done.
Tools used
- sand paper (rough)
- seal gum
- sewing machine
- new leather.
Here is the leather
I don't remove the speaker and the AC cover to have Access to inside.
I then pill out the the old leather carefully with the help of small knife.
When pilling it, i try to be very careful so that i will not have some holds on the dashboard. Finally i end up pilling all
After pilling the surface look smooth, since i am applying gum to hold the two surface together, it has to be tough so that the gum can hold it tight without falling off.
With that i use a rough sand paper to sand the surface just to make it rough.
I then wave out the sand material with the help of broom and brush. And here is the outcome of it.
I then cut the material an sew the sharp angle to make the finish work look beautiful.
After sewing it, i then apply gum on the board and also the new leather. Allow it to dry.
I then bring them together why i try all possible way to make it smooth.
After every thing, i end up getting the final result has shown below.
That is all about changing a car dashboard. Hope you enjoy reading from me today.
