I decided to dedicate a whole week to painting, I really missed focusing all my attention and energy to the movements I made with the brush on a canvas... as far as art is concerned, I think I'm good at several techniques at the same time, but... I don't know, painting properly with paint, on a canvas, has always had an almost therapeutic effect, therefore, it's one of my favorite techniques when I want to express myself.
Going back to the beginning, for this week I planned to carry out a few ideas that I will eventually share with you, for today I am delighted to share the process of a painting I did on a bag and I consider it one of the most beautiful ideas that have occurred to me in a good while are you ready to see it?

Process:
First of all, I bought a meter of fabric and, since my mom is a seamstress, I asked her to make me a small bag, also known as a totebag, a fabric bag ideal for carrying shopping or anything else since it is practical and ecofriendly.
Once my bag was ready, I took care of the sketch. On a sheet of paper that I cut out with the exact dimensions I wanted for my painting, I drew an idea that I had been thinking about for a while, I tried to keep the drawing simple since the first coats of paint would erase the smallest details made in pencil.
The next thing I did was to look for a cardboard to place inside the bag and serve as a base to paint in a more comfortable way, besides, the paint does not transfer if there is something in the way. With some small hooks or tweezers I tried to stretch and hold the fabric very well at each end of the cardboard so as not to have irregularities or air bubbles that would be uncomfortable when painting. This whole process was a bit tedious, I confess.
When I uncovered the paints I would use I felt the excitement running through my body. I usually start with the background, which I painted an ultramarine blue that would help create contrast and a bit of depth to the pastels I would use on the character.
Then, I continued with the base colors for the body of the character, in this case I used variations of pink, for his head, I intended to use several colors that would make the idea that it is a landscape, so I painted some irregular shapes of different colors, some are small mountains.
It took me several afternoons of complete dedication for this painting, it was a bit of a long process, but I enjoyed it completely, sometimes I got so excited that I forgot to take pictures of the process, but at least I managed to take pictures of most of the changes or details I made.
Painting the face was one of my favorite steps and the one that made me feel the most intimidated because I was afraid of not achieving the expression I had in mind and that it would transmit sweetness, innocence and tranquility, but hey, I finally did it and I'm happy about it.
I outlined with a thin line of fuchsia color the whole body of this little girl and defined some sections of hair adding texture and shades, then I felt ready to start painting with great care and detail a little paradise or dreamy place on her head.
The next steps took me a couple more days, I used the thinnest brushes I had and concentrated all my attention on painting small flowers, mushrooms, trees, and many more elements until I covered every space of this landscape. I had never done anything like this before, but it was fun and I realized that, although they are small elements painted in a very simple way, the variation of color and shapes is what makes it eye-catching and beautiful.
Finally, I called this project finished after adding one last coat of blue for the background, I can't tell you how pleased I am with it.

Decidí dedicar toda una semana a pintar, extrañaba mucho enfocar toda mi atención y energía a los movimientos que hacía con el pincel sobre un lienzo… en cuanto al arte se trata, creo que soy buena en varias técnicas a la vez, pero… no lo sé, el pintar propiamente con pintura, sobre un lienzo, siempre ha tenido un efecto casi terapéutico, por lo tanto, es una de mis técnicas favoritas a la hora de querer expresarme.
Volviendo al principio, para esta semana planeé llevar a cabo unas cuantas ideas que eventualmente iré compartiendo con ustedes, por el día de hoy estoy encantada de compartir el proceso de una pintura que hice sobre un bolso y considero que es una de las ideas más bonitas que se me han ocurrido en un buen tiempo ¿están listos para verlo?

Proceso:
Primero que nada, compré un metro de tela y, dado que mi mamá es costurera, le pedí que me hiciera un bolso pequeño, también conocido como totebag, un bolso de tela ideal para cargar las compras o cualquier otra cosa ya que es práctico y ecofriendly.
Una vez estuvo listo mi bolsito, me encargué del boceto. En una hoja que recorté con las dimensiones exactas que quería para mi pintura, dibujé una idea que tenía un tiempo dando vueltas en mi cabeza, traté de mantener el dibujo simple ya que las primeras capas de pintura borrarían los detalles más pequeños hechos en lápiz.
Lo siguiente que hice fue buscar un cartón para colocar por dentro del bolso y sirviera de base para pintar de manera más cómoda, además, la pintura no se traspasa si hay algo de por medio. Con unos pequeños ganchos o pinzas traté de estirar y sujetar la tela muy bien en cada extremo del cartón y así no tener irregularidades o burbujas de aire que incomodaran a la hora de pintar. Todo este proceso fue un poco tedioso, lo confieso.
Cuando destapé las pinturas que usaría sentí la emoción corriendo por mi cuerpo. Suelo empezar por el fondo, el cual pinté de un azul ultramarino y que ayudaría a crear contraste y un poco de profundidad con respecto a los colores pasteles que usaría en el personaje.
Luego, continué con los colores base para el cuerpo del personaje, en este caso usé variaciones de rosado, para su cabeza, tuve la intención de usar varios colores que hicieran la idea de que se trata de un paisaje, por eso pinté algunas formas irregulares de distintos colores, algunas son montañitas.
Me tomó varias tardes de completa dedicación para esta pintura, fue un proceso un poco largo, pero lo disfruté completamente, en algunas ocasiones me emocioné tanto que olvidaba tomar fotografías del proceso, pero al menos logré tomar fotos de la gran mayoría de cambios o detalles que hacía.
Pintar el rostro fue uno de mis pasos favoritos y el que más intimidada me hizo sentir ya que temía no lograr la expresión que tenía en mente y que transmitiera dulzura, inocencia y mucha tranquilidad, pero hey, finalmente lo logré y me siento feliz por ello.
Contorneé con una delgada línea de color fucsia todo el cuerpo de esta niña y definí algunas secciones de cabello añadiendo textura y matices, entonces me sentí lista de empezar a pintar con mucho cuidado y detalle un pequeño paraíso o lugar de ensueño sobre su cabeza
Los siguientes pasos me tomaron un par de día más, usé los pinceles más delgados que tenía y concentré toda atención en pintar pequeñas flores, hongos, árboles, y muchos más elementos hasta cubrir cada espacio de este paisaje. Nunca había hecho algo así, pero fue divertido y me di cuenta que, aunque son pequeños elementos pintados de forma muy simple, la variación de color y formas es lo que hace que sea llamativo y se vea bonito.
Finalmente, di por concluido este proyecto después de añadir una última capa de azul para el fondo, no saben lo satisfecha que estoy con él.
