This piece was created about 3 years ago if I remember correctly, it was an exercise that I did for the morphology III course where each student had a different platonic figure, for those who do not know what these figures are, they are five regular polyhedra which have identical regular faces as well as their angles and vertices. Within this family are the tetrahedron, hexahedron, octahedron, dodecahedron and icosahedron.
Esta pieza la cree ya hace unos 3 años si mal no recuerdo, era un ejercicio que realice para la materia de morfología III en donde a cada estudiante le tocaba una figura platónica diferente, para los que no sepan que son estas figuras son cinco poliedros regulares las cuales poseen caras regulares idénticas al igual que sus ángulos y vértices. Dentro de esta familia se encuentra el tetraedro, hexaedro, octaedro, dodecaedro e icosaedro.

For this 3D print the structure of the figure, tighten and glue the fabric in these sections that I cut to later hide the joints with the missing caps, these caps were full white, on this piece I placed a light blue mesh and to hide the flange where I glued the fabric I used a light blue trim also printed in 3D.
Para esto imprimir en 3D la estructura de la figura, tensar y pegar la tela en estas secciones que corte para posteriormente ocultar las uniones con las tapas faltantes, estas tapas eran de color blanco pleno, sobre esta pieza coloque una malla celeste y para ocultar el reborde donde pegue la tela utilice un remate celeste tambien impreso en 3D.

I used snaps to keep everything in place while it dried and little by little I put these lids in place to finish the piece. All this process that you see and what I tell you seems simple, but it was weeks of work both between the proposals I made and showed to the teacher and the time to get the materials, the colors I wanted and end up with a good result.
Utilice broches para mantener todo en su lugar mientras se secaba y poco a poco coloque estas tapas en su lugar para ir terminando la pieza. Todo este proceso que ven y lo que cuento parece sencillo, pero fueron semanas de trabajo tanto entre las propuestas que hice y le fui mostrando al profesor como el tiempo para conseguir los materiales, los colores que yo quería y terminar con un buen resultado.

Something very critical that happened to me is that all the proposals that I took to the professor did not accept them, for one reason or another they were not enough for him, then being with just enough time I had to make a decision, and that was that I would make a simpler work, with conservative colors but very well done, this means a very but very neat work.
Algo muy critico que me paso es que todas las propuestas que le lleve al profesor no me las aceptaba, por un motivo u otro no le eran suficientes entonces ya al estar con el tiempo justo debí tomar una decisión, y esa fue que realizaría un trabajo más sencillo, con colores conservadores pero muy bien concretado, esto quiere decir un trabajo muy pero muy prolijo.

As you can see in the last pictures I was able to accomplish this, it was a very neat work, where all the imperfections and details were hidden in the inner part. The teacher told me that it was a simple and insipid work but that the colors and the concretion were excellent, he was happy that with the time I had I had done a very good job even though it was not innovative.
Como verán en las ultimas fotos pude cumplir con esto, quedo un trabajo bien prolijo, en donde todas las imperfecciones y detalles quedaron ocultos en la parte interna. El profesor al darme la devolución me dijo que era un trabajo sencillo e insulso pero que los colores y la concreción eran excelentes, había quedado contento que con el tiempo con el que conté haya hecho un trabajo muy bueno a pesar de que no haya sido innovador.
From this moment I understood that the word bland is not something so negative since in this context it can denote neutrality, tranquility, subtlety, so I learned a lot with this work. To make critical decisions with the time one has, to give the best despite being pressed for time and that the word bland in the right context can be something more positive than negative. Antes de empezar a leer tu post, lo primero que llamó mi atención fueron los colores y lo prolijo de la pieza, de alguna manera me transmite sensación de calma. Ya luego comencé a leerte y me hiciste recordar cuando ví Geometría II en la universidad😅 jaja una materia hermosa pero bastante complicada y que involucra mucha imaginación✨
Gracias por compartir tu experiencia, es bueno recordar que lo "sencillo e insulso" no tiene por qué significar malo y que siempre es muy importante tomar las decisiones correctas aunque no sean lo que hubiésemos deseado inicialmente😉
Amo la geometria, es un arte perfecto pero al ser tan exacto es complicado que todo calce bien, sisi la verdad con este trabajo aprendí muchísimo,uno no siempre uno logra lo que quiere hacer sino que a veces toca cumplir con tiempos ajustados y ahí es donde hay que dar lo mejor para quedar conformes y bueno obviamente aprobar jajaja.
