¿Cual es mi aporte para ayudar al medio ambiente?
What is my contribution to help the environment?
Desde hace un tiempo hemos oído hablar sobre reciclaje, reutilizar ciertos materiales y buscar alternativas que no impacten el medio ambiente. De hecho se han hecho cumbres y reuniones para tratar el tema del calentamiento global y contaminación, y es que ya el tiempo al parecer que se agotó.
For some time now we have been hearing about recycling, reusing certain materials and looking for alternatives that do not impact the environment. In fact, summits and meetings have been held to address the issue of global warming and pollution, and it seems that time has run out.
Podemos ver la cantidad de eventos que acontecen a diario en diferentes países. Actividades volcánicas, cambios de temperatura, lluvias intensas, inundaciones, tornados, por mencionar algunas.
We can see the number of events that occur daily in different countries. Volcanic activity, temperature changes, heavy rains, floods, tornadoes, to name a few.
Este mes el Creative Recycling Challenge dará un espacio de 14 días para compartir, discutir e inspirar sobre actividades ecológicas que permitan aminorar la huella que dejamos en nuestro paso por el mundo.
This month the Creative Recycling Challenge will give a space of 14 days to share, discuss and inspire about ecological activities that allow us to reduce the footprint we leave in our passage through the world.
Más que exponer algunas manualidades es un espacio para reflexionar, estos días en mi ciudad ha iniciado un extenso operativo de recolección de desechos y es que cualquier esquina de la ciudad se ha convertido en un vertedero a cielo abierto, la autoridad de la ciudad ha informado que diario se están recogiendo más de 700 toneladas de desechos, sin embargo lo curioso es que apartando los problemas que existen con la recolección el mayor inconveniente es la forma como nosotros disponemos de los desechos, no existe separación alguna, acumulamos todo y así botamos.
More than exposing some crafts is a space to reflect, these days in my city has begun an extensive waste collection operation and is that any corner of the city has become an open dump, the city authority has reported that daily are being collected more than 700 tons of waste, however the funny thing is that apart from the problems that exist with the collection the biggest problem is the way we dispose of waste, there is no separation, we accumulate everything and so we throw away.
Es un grave problema de educación, en casa podemos fácilmente separar:
- Todo el plástico
- Papel y cartón
- Desechos orgánicos.
El plástico podemos venderlo a las empresas que fabrican bolsas, a quienes venden desinfectantes. Otra opción es regalarlos a personas que se encargan de venderlos y está sería una manera de ayudarlos para que obtengan un dinero.
Igual podemos hacer con el papel y cartón.
Los desechos orgánicos podemos guardarlos en la nevera y sacarlos el día que pasen los camiones que recogen basura y así evitamos que se descompongan o en casa podemos hacer abono orgánico para las plantas.
It is a serious problem of education, at home we can easily separate:
- All plastic
- Paper and cardboard
- Organic waste.
We can sell the plastic to companies that manufacture bags, to those who sell disinfectants. Another option is to give them away to people who sell them and this would be a way to help them to get some money.
The same can be done with paper and cardboard.
We can store organic waste in the refrigerator and take it out the day the garbage trucks pass by to prevent it from decomposing, or we can make organic fertilizer for plants at home.
Son pequeñas acciones que impactan de manera positiva y reducen la contaminación de los espacios.
These are small actions that have a positive impact and reduce the contamination of spaces.
Recordemos que esto es una cadena no solo es la basura en la calle es que luego existen personas que recogen ciertos materiales como aluminio y cobre para venderlos y generan incendios en la basura para quemar los desechos y localizar con facilidad los metales, desprendiendo dichos incendios gases altamente contaminantes.
Remember that this is a chain not only is the garbage in the street, but there are people who collect certain materials such as aluminum and copper to sell them and generate fires in the garbage to burn the waste and easily locate the metals, releasing these fires highly polluting gases.
Cambiemos la manera como disponemos nuestros desechos.
Let's change the way we dispose of our waste.
Te muestro lo que logré hacer con varios rollos de cartón, a petición de mi mamá.
I show you what I managed to make with several rolls of cardboard, at my mother's request.
No soy de tener en casa símbolos religiosos, aún y cuando crecí con valores católicos fuertes. Recuerdo que cada diciembre en casa de mi abuela materna no faltaba el pesebre y le cantaba villancicos mi abuela con el cuatro y yo podía estar horas frente al pesebre cantando. En el colegio asistía a las misas de gallo y se hacía un pesebre viviente donde todo el colegio participaba. Era un mes lleno de tradiciones y alegrías donde el objetivo era compartir.
I am not one to have religious symbols at home, even though I grew up with strong Catholic values. I remember that every December at my maternal grandmother's house there was always a manger and my grandmother would sing Christmas carols with the cuatro and I could spend hours in front of the manger singing. At school I attended the rooster masses and there was a living nativity scene where the whole school participated. It was a month full of traditions and joys where the objective was to share.
Paso a Paso || Step by Step
1- tome los rollos de cartón y los corte por un lado, con el fin de formar conos, esto para darle una forma al cuerpo de cada personaje. No quise dejarlos como cilindro porque pensé que se verían un poco ordinarios.
1- I took the cardboard rolls and cut them on one side, in order to form cones, this to give a shape to the body of each character. I didn't want to leave them as cylinders because I thought they would look a bit ordinary.
2- Con papel lustrillo corte dos tiras una en tono marrón que sería la cara y otro del color de mi preferencia que sería el vestuario. Con silicón pegue cada tira.
2- With lustrillo paper I cut two strips, one in a brown tone that would be the face and the other one in the color of my preference that would be the costume. With silicone glue each strip.
3- Los detalles según cada personaje.
San José: para el cabello y barba utilicé lana que pegue con silicón, utilice un pedacito de tela con la que le cubrí la cabeza y espalda, y con mecatillo le amarre a la altura de la frente.
María: para el cabello utilice mecatillo y un pedacito de tela para colocarselo desde la cabeza hasta los pies.
Tres reyes magos: la corona la hice con pedacitos de foami, con papel lustrillo blanco corte finas tiras para la barba de cada uno, y con pedacitos de tela le coloque unas capas.
3- The details according to each character.
San José: for the hair and beard I used wool that I glued with silicone, I used a little piece of cloth to cover his head and back, and with mecatillo I tied it at the level of his forehead.
Mary: for the hair, I used mecatillo and a small piece of cloth to tie it from head to toe.
Three kings: I made the crown with pieces of foami, with white glossy paper I cut thin strips for the beard of each one, and with pieces of fabric I placed some layers.
4- Tome un cilindro y corte rectángulos finos, con silicón pegue algodón para formar el cuerpo de las ovejas, y en un papel lustrillo marque la cabeza la recorte y pegue.
4- Take a cylinder and cut thin rectangles, with silicone glue cotton to form the sheep's body, and on a piece of lustrillo paper mark the head, cut it out and glue it.
5- Para los pinos tome un cilindro lo aplane, dibuje con lápiz el árbol y con la tijera lo recorte, tome pincel y pintura y le coloque color.
5- For the pine trees, take a cylinder and flatten it, draw the tree with a pencil and cut it out with the scissors, take a brush and paint and color it.
Finalmente así quedó este mini pesebre.
Finally, this is how this mini nativity scene looks like.

Siempre es bueno usar materiales de reciclaje para nuestras manualidades. Yo pienso que siempre podemos hacer algo interesante y bonito con esta clase de manteriales si usamos el ingenio, algo que tu estas demostrando.
