Dicen que hechando a perder se aprende y justo estoy en esa etapa 🤭 literalmente todo lo que hago es para aprender así que a veces las cosas me salen bien de una, pero otras veces no me salen muy bien y aunque antes lo veía como un fracaso ahora lo veo como lo que es, aprendizaje valioso que me ayudará a mejorar cada día.

Literally, everything I do is to learn, so sometimes things work out for me the first time around, but other times they don't turn out so well, and although I used to see that as a failure, now I see it for what it is: a valuable lesson that will help me improve every day.
Es por eso que en esta oportunidad les vuelvo a compartir un paso a paso de como encuadernó mi biblia, pero con una técnica diferente a la anterior, a decir verdad no quede para nada conforme con cómo me quedo en aquella oportunidad así que estuve pensando como hacerlo de nuevo, pero está vez decidí hacerlo mejor y con una técnica más apropiada.
That's why I'm sharing with you again a step-by-step guide on how I bound my Bible, but using a different technique than before. To be honest, I wasn't at all happy with how it turned out last time, so I was thinking about how to do it again, but this time I decided to do it better and with a more appropriate technique.
La vez anterior digamos que restaure el lomo de la biblia y como no quise deshacerme de las portadas busque la forma de restaurarlas también un poco y las forre con foami negro,quería que tuviese una solapa para cerrarla con velcro y los pegue con silicón caliente, pero al poco tiempo se despegaron y solo me quedaron unas huellas horribles del silicón en el foami, realmente nada bonito de ver para mí. 😕
Last time, let's say I restored the spine of the Bible, and since I didn't want to get rid of the covers, I looked for a way to restore them a little too, and I covered them with black foam. I wanted it to have a flap to close it with Velcro, and I glued them with hot silicone, but after a short time, they came unstuck and I was left with horrible silicone marks on the foam. It really wasn't a pretty sight, in my opinion. 😕
Así que está vez le puse más amor y decidí hacerle un encuadernado casero, reciclando cartón de una libreta 📓 vieja y también un Jean 👖 viejo, aunque no es perfecta y todavía está en periodo de prueba quedé bastante más satisfecha con él resultado, y además hace rato quería practicar está técnica de encuadernación porque quiero hacer mis propias carpetas y cuadernos así que me sirvió mucho para aprender, pero ahora acompáñame a ver los materiales que use y la elaboración mientras les cuento un poco más sobre esta experiencia. 🥰🙌🏻

Con cartón reciclado,♻️ de una libreta 📓 empastada a la que previamente le quite el forro que tenía, era una libreta de mi era High school musical donde salían Zack Efron y Vanessa Hudgens, 🥰 hice dos piezas de 12cm de ancho y 16.5 cm de largo, estás serán las tapas de la biblia y también saque una pieza de 2.5 cm de ancho y 16.5 cm de largo que será el lomo.
Using recycled cardboard♻️ from a bound notebook📓, which I had previously removed the cover from, it was a notebook from my High School Musical era featuring Zack Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, 🥰 I made two pieces 12 cm wide and 16.5 cm long, which will be the covers of the Bible, and I also cut a piece 2.5 cm wide and 16.5 cm long, which will be the spine.
Para unir las 3 piezas de cartón, las dos tapas y el lomo, utilicé un trozo de tela, en este caso tela de un jean 👖 viejo que recicle ♻️ está pieza de tela tenía que ser más grande que la pieza del lomo así que corte un trozo de 8.5cm de ancho y 20.5 cm de largo. Con un pincel 🖌️ le puse pega blanca a la pieza de cartón y lo pegue en el centro de la pieza de tela, haciendo presión con mis manos.
To join the three pieces of cardboard, the two covers and the spine, I used a piece of fabric, in this case fabric from an old pair of jeans 👖 that I recycled ♻️ This piece of fabric had to be larger than the spine, so I cut a piece 8.5 cm wide and 20.5 cm long. With a brush, I applied white glue to the piece of cardboard and stuck it in the center of the piece of fabric, pressing down with my hands.
Aquí tengo que hacer un paréntesis para contarles que le puse mucha agua a la pega y la dañe ya que no pega tan bien como antes, nunca me había pasado, siempre mezclo está pega con un poquito de agua para suavizarla, pero está vez eche mucha agua y perdió casi por completo sus propiedades, así que como consejo no le pongan mucha agua a la pega. 🙏🏻
I have to pause here to tell you that I added too much water to the glue and ruined it, as it doesn't stick as well as before. This has never happened to me before. I always mix this glue with a little water to soften it, but this time I added too much water and it lost almost all of its properties, so my advice is not to add too much water to the glue. 🙏🏻
De la misma forma pegué las dos tapas a los lados del lomo, dejando medio centímetro de separación entre ellas, esto para abrir y cerrar con comodidad. Cómo pueden ver en la imagen quedan dos pestañas en los extremos que doble hacía adentro y las pegué también. Luego para terminar de reforzar pique otro pedazo de tela, aquí no use medidas sino al ojo por ciento y los pegue con más pega blanca. Por lo que les conté de la pega en el párrafo anterior, fue súper tedioso tuve que ponerle cosas con peso y esperar horas que se secará 😖 fue tedioso, nadie me mandó a ponerle tanta agua a la pega. 😭
In the same way, I glued the two covers to the sides of the spine, leaving half a centimeter between them so that it could be opened and closed easily. As you can see in the picture, there are two tabs at the ends that I folded inward and glued down as well. Then, to finish reinforcing it, I cut another piece of fabric, here I didn't use measurements but just eyed it up, and glued it with more white glue. As I told you about the glue in the previous paragraph, it was super tedious, I had to put things on top of it to weigh it down and wait hours for it to dry 😖 It was tedious, nobody told me to put so much water in the glue. 😭
Luego de que estuvo lista la portada la forre con más tela de Jean, y sí, también con esa pega blanca, creo que en la imagen se nota lo aguada que quedó la pega, para esta pieza de tela tampoco use medidas solo coloque la portada sobre el pedazo de tela grande y recorte al ojo por ciento, pero procurando que quede 2 cm de tela a cada lado para que me quedarán unas pestañas que pudiera doblar hacia adentro. Hice unos pequeños cortes esquineros,y comencé a doblar las pestañas hacia adentro, intente pegarlas con la pega blanca también, pero fue imposible, tuve que recurrir al silicón líquido, gracias a Dios aún me quedaba un poco.
Once the cover was ready, I covered it with more denim fabric, and yes, also with that white glue. I think you can see in the picture how watery the glue was. For this piece of fabric, I didn't use any measurements either. I just placed the cover on the large piece of fabric and cut it by eye, but making sure to leave 2 cm of fabric on each side so that I would have some flaps that I could fold inwards. I made some small corner cuts and began to fold the flaps inward. I tried to glue them with the white glue as well, but it was impossible. I had to resort to liquid silicone, thank God I still had a little left.
Forrada la portada por fuera, fue el turno de forrarla por dentro y para eso utilicé una hoja blanca que por cierto también recicle ♻️ de la misma libreta empastada. Para esto también utilicé y con mucho miedo la pega blanca, pero gracias a Dios quedó bien. 😊🙏🏻
Once the cover was lined on the outside, it was time to line the inside, and for that I used a white sheet of paper that I also recycled ♻️ from the same bound notebook. For this I also used white glue, very nervously, but thankfully it turned out well. 😊🙏🏻
Me pareció que la portada así se veía muy simple, quería docararla con algo, pero que fuese funcional al mismo tiempo y se me ocurrió ponerle uno de los bolsillos del pantalón que usé para forrar, lo malo es que lo intente pegar con pega loca porque he visto infinidades de tutoriales donde hacen un bolso y pegan los bolsillos con pega loca, pues a mí no me funcionó, no sé pegó para nada y más bien mancho un poco el bolsillo, fue frustrante, pero trato de ignorarlo.
En fin, terminó salvando el día otra vez el silicón líquido. 🎉🙌🏻 Gracias silicón por ser mi héroe en este aventura. 🥰🤭
I thought the cover looked too simple, I wanted to decorate it with something, but I wanted it to be functional at the same time, so I decided to use one of the pockets from the pants I used for the lining. The problem was that I tried to glue it with superglue because I've seen countless tutorials where they make a bag and glue the pockets with superglue, but it didn't work for me. It didn't stick at all and it stained the pocket a little. It was frustrating, but I tried to ignore it.
Anyway, liquid silicone saved the day again. 🎉🙌🏻 Thank you, silicone, for being my hero in this adventure. 🥰🤭
Pido disculpas por qué no saque foto de la última parte del proceso, pero lo que hice fue ponerle un pedazo de tela al lomo de la biblia y luego con silicón líquido, pegue la biblia a la portada, procurando presionar unos minutos, también la dejé un rato con peso encima para que se pegará mejor y este fue el resultado, aunque me incomodan las manchas blancas que le dejo la pega loca en el bolsillo, aún así me siento muy feliz con el resultado, me parece que quedó muy bonita y ahora si volvió a nacer mi hermosa biblia. 🥰❤️
I apologize for not taking a photo of the last part of the process, but what I did was put a piece of fabric on the spine of the Bible and then, using liquid silicone, I glued the Bible to the cover, pressing down for a few minutes. I also left a weight on top of it for a while so that it would stick better, and this was the result. Although I am bothered by the white stains left by the glue in the pocket, I am still very happy with the result. I think it turned out very nice, and now my beautiful Bible has been reborn. 🥰❤️
