Bueno...realmente lo reciclado son las láminas de vinil que estaban colocadas en una heladería de Montevideo la cual mi esposo estaba remodelando, decidió entonces traerlas a casa en vez de tirarlas al contenedor. El arquitecto le dijo que estaba loco, que era demasiado trabajo limpiarlas por debajo; pero él sabe como soy yo de persistente, que así sea de una en una las iba a limpiar.
Well...really what is recycled is the vinyl sheets that were placed in an ice cream parlor in Montevideo that my husband was remodeling, so he decided to bring them home instead of throwing them in the dumpster. The architect told him that he was crazy, that it was too much work to clean them underneath; but he knows how persistent I am, that even one by one he would clean them.
Todo esto lo hicimos con el permiso de la dueña del apartamento, ya que el piso que tiene, realmente no es nada agradable a la vista y en invierno es helado!
We did all this with the permission of the owner of the apartment, since the floor she has is really not at all pleasant to look at and in winter it is icy!
Primero las seleccioné, las que tenían menos concreto y las que tenían de todo.
Con una espátula fuí quitanado los restos de pega y cemento adherido hasta tener un grupo grande. Limpiaba aprox 7 láminas por día en los ratos libres.
I selected them first, the ones with less concrete and the ones with everything.
With a spatula I removed the remains of glue and adhered cement until I had a large group. I cleaned approx 7 sheets per day in my spare time.
Cuando ya tuve suficientes láminas limpias comenzamos el proceso de despejar el área. El cuarto es pequeño y movimos primero todo para un lado, pegamos con una pega especial para ese tipo de pisos, luego de que secara un poco movimos todo para ese lado ya pegado y continuamos.
When I had enough clean sheets we began the process of clearing the area. The room is small and we first moved everything to one side, we glued it with a special glue for this type of floor, after it dried a bit we moved everything to that side already glued and we continued.
Realmente es satisfactorio poder hacer este tipo de cosas que ayudan al medio ambiente, queda lindo y uno vive e un lugar mejor.
It is really satisfying to be able to do this type of thing that helps the environment, it looks beautiful and one lives in a better place.
