🇬🇧 But why are they doing this? To give quick answers, it must be borne in mind that in the animal world, we fight, reproduce, and sleep. It’s said in the most anti-romantic way possible, but it reflects reality. You will tell me, in the human world, we are not far from doing the same. Certainly, but it’s another subject! So most of the jumps or agitations that the whales show are warnings. Presence of predators, disturbance caused by boats too close, annoyance, these surface movements are made to try to keep away an intruder. Others, on the contrary, are made to bring an individual closer... usually a female. Other ends are intended for the education of a juvenile who will reproduce the gesture shown by his mother. As for the assumptions of games, certainly it is pleasant to imagine, but apart from when it comes from the calf, it is likely that it remains within the framework of anthropomorphism. |

Thanks a lot !! Appreciated !
I follow quite a few photographers, but your photos consistently stand out as among the best.
Thank you, really nice comment. I try to do my best even if it's hard to be a photographer on Hive. Big Curators and Downvoters don't make this platform easy for photographers. They curate posts only if they have "a minimum quantity of number of words", or downvote posts if the minimum of this quantity of words is not reached. But photography is not words... It's another way of expression... Quality is not a synonym of quantity...

Hi @marc-allaria we would be glade if you can post in our community, but please add location, date of observation, species and if possible link to inaturalist.org or other such specialised server. I noticed that you have nice web full of photos (and yes birds 😀 ) I believe it's unfortunate not to utilise a significant number of observations. Naturally, everyone has their own views on this matter, and it does require additional effort.
Hi @birdwatcher , Ok, sorry I think I did not understand the subject of your community. I will try to correct that in my next post.
You are welcome. Looking forward to marine life.
