They are quite harmful in agriculture. They cause serious damage by eating large amounts of leaves of oranges, lemons and other citrus species. That is why they are considered a harmful insect or pest of citrus crops in agriculture. Since I have China Three lemon, orange, and Maltese trees in my own garden, I have to be a little careful when I see such caterpillars on the leaves of the trees.
