Dysdercus is a widespread genus of true bugs in the family Pyrrhocoridae, a number of species that attack cotton are called "cotton dyers."
These species can be confused with bugs in the family Lygaeidae, but can be distinguished by the absence of ocelli on the head. They can be easily distinguished from most other Pyrrhocoridae genera by the strong white markings at the junction of the head and thorax, and along the sides of the thorax, and often on the abdomen.

The platform allows users to upload photos or videos of plants, animals, and other organisms, which can then be identified by a community of other users. In addition, iNaturalist also has an automatic identification feature that uses computer vision to help identify species. |
