This morning I received an extraordinary surprise. I had a special visitor. I wasn't going to let him leave until I was satisfied with his photograph. It was a green crested lizard. I found him leisurely strolling across the grass in my yard.
He didn't run away when I approached, he continued to walk leisurely and stare at me. While photographing, I engaged him, chattering constantly, even though I knew he wouldn't respond. I kept trying to make him as comfortable as possible around me.
This lizard was incredibly brave and calm around me. I admire his courage. I know lizards usually flee when they see humans. But this lizard was the exact opposite, he was so relaxed and calm. Perhaps he had often seen me in the wild hunting insects. So, he wasn't afraid anymore, knowing what I was doing.
This lizard left me speechless. I never imagined I'd encounter a lizard so close. This was truly an incredible surprise. I was even more amazed when I managed to photograph its face. At first, I had no idea that lizard eyes were so beautiful, round and sparkling, reflecting such a beautiful light. But today, I finally saw that beauty.
