Short-winged grasshopper

On the tip of a leaf still damp with the remnants of morning dew, a short-winged grasshopper perched silently. Its eyes remained fixed on me. I approached it cautiously. This grasshopper was very small and its coloration was a very simple, soft light brown. It blended perfectly with the leaf it was perched on.

The way it stood was also quite interesting; its body appeared to be stuck to the leaf it was perched on. Perhaps it was camouflaged to avoid my notice. At first glance, it looked like a freshly fallen leaf stuck to a green leaf. This grasshopper's charm was like a secret deliberately hidden so that only the most discerning eye could discover it.

To the naked eye, the grasshopper's body was covered in a plain brown. However, when it appeared on my phone's camera screen, its entire body was adorned with beautiful, distinctive patterns. Judging by its fresh coloration, it was likely still very young. I also noticed that it didn't have wings yet.
