Figured I'd do a quick little log here and there on what I'm working on for anyone interested.
Majority of the post rewards will go towards @zing.fund to help funding of the game (once we've caught up with paying our curators and mods)
Instead of just shitposting (and forfeiting rewards) maybe this'll give people some insight on current activities or lack thereof while not letting autovotes go to waste (I know, I could just not post when I don't have anything important to say, but hey, at least I'm not accepting all author rewards constantly like other authors in a similar position may). And yes, holozing is "my" project, but I like to think of it as a DAO-ish ecosystem where contributors are rewarded in hive and that eventually over time even my position of leading, overseeing, designing, planning, outreach, etc, may hopefully be replaced cause I'm not the best at many of those things and I'm not really afraid to admit it. What I do like to think however is that I'm quite decent at gaming so looking forward to do that with our game(s) in the near future.
Now, some things may be redacted, some things aren't good to have public at all times, so I'll just be noting down "redacted" on those parts, whoever is involved knows what that activity may portray.
Since this is my first post and there's been a lack of updates on the main @holozing account for a while, I'll do a bit brief on the last week/month of activities before going to more recent events.
start of new side-project for zing, too early to give details, but connections, planning, and work have started, more to share hopefully sooner than the main game!
- designing currency, xp, zing rewards, and costs
- other, redacted
collection set
- creation of 3d packs with additional animations
- discussion and planning on how it'll be built and showcased on the website
- assembling and picking of community artworks for the alpha collection set
- planning of costs, rewards, and royalty shares for the collection set
main game
- implementation of evolution progress and limitations on when evolved creatures can appear in encounters
- implementation of creature moves restrictions on what moves and when they can learn them
- implementation of creature level on wild encounters based on the healer's party creature levels
- implementation of new moves for creature types without unique moves yet for main game (bug & grass)
- testing alpha vial opening with all assets
- preparing to update the inventory page for vial opening
Lastly, we've also recently updated our collection reward zing allocation as announced in our Discord. The idea here, due to Hive's low price for long, is to reward those going out of their way to spend Hive when they'd rather be accruing it at this point. While delegations help give the project a consistent weekly funding, in terms of value it has remained rather low for longer, thus people spending hive or bringing value into the hive blockchain from other currencies and spending it on the holozing ecosystem are fairly rewarded as it is direct funding towards a project that requires a lot of it.
While we haven't made any official updates in a long time and hope that hasn't deterred users/speculators/interest, we hope to get back to it soon with some strength behind the announcements, as some of the things currently ongoing are finalized and ready to go live. The great thing about Hive and its transparency is that many may see that I'm personally still delegating and buying vials as much as I can at these hive prices to further support the project and don't expect to be earning any hive anytime soon from my own contributions compared to others.
If you still have trust in the project, we'd welcome delegations towards @zingtoken and purchases of our limited alpha vials to help it along. Delegations in and of themselves would be welcomed even if the delegators instantly sold the earned Zing (currently at 9% APR) to get back the value their delegations may have forfeited in terms of curation rewards - as long as it helps further fund the project and the APR stays somewhat high so you'd get back what you delegated. As for alpha vial funding, that one we can't guarantee if it's going to be profitable or even see any return of value, as collection rewards may be adjusted based on the project's best interests and development. That said, they may withstand value over time in and of themselves, even if we stopped rewarding zing towards them eventually.
Thanks for reading and still being part of @holozing and $zing!
It's funny cause I never have cared about the price of Hive or let it dictate if or when I am going to doing something with my Hive or HBD, etc.
I am in Hive to have fun and explore and learn and create. If $Hive was worth $10 or $0.01 I don't care. But I also understand why so many people DO care about it's price and make decisions based on that.
So for me, I will continue to save up my HBD from writing on Hive and will keep buying up Alpha Vials as I can with it. (I only have 2 so far sadly).
I staked all my earned ZING with Swap.Hive as I can and claim my earnings and those get autostaked back as staked ZING. So yeah I just want to accumulate as much ZING as I can so that WHEN the game launches I can be the very best like no one ever was..... 😉
But also I am still aware that I am going to have to get a influx of HIVE for when the day comes that physical cards are a reality cause man oh man... I am going to FOMO buy those MF's like no one's business lol
Keep it up buddy, you are killing it!
Haha that will hopefully not only depend on your zing amount!
About hive, thing is, for me personally for instance, I wouldn't want to "sell" hive to fund the project at these prices, sure when it goes to 40c+ it'd be nice to average out my hive "sells" for vials a bit, but as someone who very much believes Hive will get back up there to $1+ it feels a bit bitter to have to sink so much of it just to keep development going and funded.
I've been delegating for close to 2 years now, meaning that's already 20-30k hive gone towards zingtoken, I've purchased over 1k vials now which at these prices means another 100k+ hive. I wouldn't want to spend too much hive at this time if that makes sense because it'd be more efficient to do so later, but some times you just have to for the crucial workload and devs not within the ecosystem who trust you'll eventually pay them and aren't okay with waiting. Thankfully I've had a lot of great people involved who haven't been in a rush and understood the decline in hive price has made things difficult to fund.
Oh well, hopefully with more posts like these and maybe some more community support over time it won't feel too bad and we can all share a little bit more of the burden of "having to sell hive at low prices" to fund a project which will hopefully bring back a lot of value to the hive ecosystem for the amount it's had to sell.
oh no I totally get it dude. But you are in a whole different league than me. I am in Hive to have fun first and foremost. All my web3/crypto is fun money where it came from zero fiat investment. So I am way more "loose" when it comes to spending it on projects I like. (who knows maybe in 20 years I may want to cash out my crypto stuff but even then that is what BTC and ETH is for to hold and save up as a retirement fund haha)
For example. I spent WAYYY too much HIVE and WAX on buying Splinterlands cards because I have a problem lol The HBD I earn from posting here is 90% saved to buy more Alpha Vials (for obvious various reasons).
People like you though, I get the need to sell Hive to fund projects and other things. You have costs and expenses so I get that 100%.
Things are looking good here apart from the funding. Hive value usually recovers a bit at least once a year so in that window hopefully the dev debts can be paid off and the funds can be utilised for further game development.
I'm excited to see how the game works out in the future. I feel like adding milestones to the current progress of the activities behind the project in a much more organised way will attract more investors since hive is all about transparency. As in "this much milestones have been completed so on to the next phase" will create a rough estimate on game's release date which can probably help when people constantly asking for a release date.
With that low hive price must be tough to pay devs, if it only would reach 50c you could speed up I guess
It makes sense the distribution change on rewards
Sounds interesting, I'll be on the lookout to find out what the project is about, best regards
The wait drives me crazy. When the Holozing game comes out, I'll be one of the first. I've always excelled in games. I hope this will also be the case.
Great to hear about the game, that new project sounds interesting, I'll be keeping an eye out for what's next.
I haven't bought any alpha yet, but my delegation from the start of the project remains intact, as do all my tokens, which are still staked and I haven't moved them from there. I'll continue to support Hive, just like the project. Nothing happens overnight; you always have to prepare things step by step to ensure a great outcome. Good luck with the project and everything that is being consolidated.
I cant wait for the launch!
!BBH
I'm still confident in the project, it all looks so nice to me that I'm already looking forward to playing it.
The launch is sure to be amazing.🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
Did something change with the rewards recently? I notice the other day I am suddenly making about 1200 more ZING per day than I used to be and nothing significant changed on my side of things.
Yeah as mentioned in the post we upped zing distribution towards collection rewards (vial holders currently).
Oh, I must have glanced over that part. Sorry, been a crazy morning. I appreciate the explanation!
I just started my Holozing journey, and still getting to know it more... But I'm excited to play the game! 😎✨
Not gonna lie, I admire how you balance honesty and hope in these logs. You’re not sugarcoating it, but you’re also not giving up—and that’s leadership right there. 💯
Waiting for the something better...
this game is really going to be awesome
Gracias por actualizarnos. cuentanos mas de las recompensas a los creadores de cartas coleccionables.
@acidyo The Zing log is packed with awesome updates. The battles and rewards sound like a blast, and I can almost feel the action!
good luck
Good
The idea of eventually replacing leadership roles based on merit and contribution is very forward-thinking. I'm excited to see how this DAO-ish ecosystem will function and contribute to the game's success.
