Hello everyone, friends! 👋 Your artist friend is back with a new creation for today. I wanted to combine one of my female characters with a miniature version of a dragon, specifically the ice type.
La idea detrás de esta combinación fue crear una especie de fusión llamativa entre ambos personajes. Imaginé la escena de noche, con el personaje cerca de un balcón, similar a un dibujo que hice anteriormente. Esta vez, sin embargo, nos está mirando con una expresión juguetona, alzando la mano como si la hubiéramos sorprendido tomando una selfie. Además, lleva unos lentes que a muchos les parecen "tontos" o de "nerd", ¡pero a mí me encantan! Sinceramente, creo que le dan un toque muy lindo. 😍
The idea behind this combination was to create a sort of striking fusion between both characters. I imagined the scene at night, with the character near a balcony, similar to a previous drawing I did. This time, however, she’s looking at us with a playful expression, raising her hand as if we caught her off guard taking a selfie. She’s also wearing glasses that many people consider "silly" or "nerdy," but I love them! I sincerely think they give her a very lovely touch. 😍

Para la creación del dibujo, comencé con el lineal que originalmente hice en papel. Luego lo pasé a Krita, el programa que uso actualmente ya que mi PC es de bajos recursos. En Krita, me dediqué a pulir el liner y a arreglar las combinaciones con el personaje.
For the creation of the drawing, I started with the lineart, which I originally drew on paper. Then I transferred it to Krita, the program I currently use since my PC has low resources. In Krita, I focused on refining the lineart and fixing the combinations with the character.

Lo primero que pinté fue la piel, buscando tonalidades entre otras capas de dibujo que tenía. Después, pinté la ropa y el cabello usando referencias. Me gusta experimentar con las paletas de color; usé una roja, pero luego la cambié por un azul similar al del dragón de hielo. Finalmente, detallé elementos pequeños como la cola y las partes que debían brillar.
The first thing I painted was the skin, looking for tones from other drawing layers I had. Afterward, I painted the clothes and hair using references. I enjoy experimenting with color palettes; I used a red one, but then changed the color to a blue similar to that of the ice dragon. Finally, I detailed small elements like the tail and the parts that needed to shine.

Para los toques finales, agregué una capa difuminada para simular un efecto de luz que rebota en ella. Luego, utilicé una capa de multiplicar para mejorar las sombras y lograr que se integraran mejor con el escenario. Este es un truco simple que ayuda mucho con las sombras y la ambientación.
For the final touches, I added a diffused layer to simulate a light effect bouncing off her. Then, I used a multiply layer to enhance the shadows and ensure they integrated better with the setting. This is a simple trick that greatly helps with shadows and ambiance.
