This morning I noticed this announcement in Holozing discord:

So, now we earn ZING rewards for our items held after opening the Alpha vials, as well as for the unopened vials. Last info I am aware of is there is a breakdown of 50/50% between unopened vials and items on collection rewards.
Acid also briefly mentions it in his latest post, which is more of a teaser for an upcoming event and achievement, without many details other than they will be based on our on-chain activity that focused on Holozing on the creative side (posts, comments, votes, reblogs were mentioned), for the past two years. So yes, it's retroactive! There will also be "muting" for anyone interested in gaming the rewards...
Back to the vials though... Despite my lack of time, I'd rather see myself as trying to play the game than playing on its economics. So, I opened the remainder of my vials.
Got some more interesting pulls than in my first two vials, but also a number of questions or lack of clarity in my mind (I'd say it is natural at this stage), part of which I'm sure would reveal to me when I see the game play.
Maybe it's worth mentioning that I haven't played any TCG before Splinterlands. No Pokemon, no Magic: The Gathering, or whatever else was there before that.
So my experience with this game genre doesn't come from my teenage years, as with other types of games, but was formed well into adulthood.
Here's one of my questions, for example. I have 3 Walles. I see we have levels on them. Acid may have talked about that in his posts long time ago, but I forgot: leveling up comes from experience gathered in fights, not by combining them, right? It would make no sense to combine them since they have different stats. How would you combine two cards with different stats? I think I answered this question myself, logically.
The other interesting fact is that I have 3 Water creatures, with 3 different frames:
One:

Two:

Three:

After reading the general discord a bit, looks like first is gold foil, second might be regular foil, and 3rd is diamond foil. Too bad last is so bad on stats. If it weren't for health, it would have been competing for the worse stats in the game, probably.
Strange combinations... Best foil with the worse stats. GF Walle has two epic stats, but such low health and attack. Can it survive only with defense and agility? Can the other stats be improved through experience?
The RF one is the most balanced on stats, but also with nothing extraordinary.
I also have 3 Zappits. My 2nd best creature on average is a Zappit, also a GF, like the 1st best:

It has an awful defense, but it compensates on health and on agility.
On the opposite side of the spectrum, my DF Zappit barely has some health, it has low agility too, but it has decent defense and a good attack.

Soo... I'll have to choose what to focus on: defense or attack.
I don't have any Infurno. Bummer!
On the items side, I finally got a few capturing devices, but none of them higher than uncommon rarity.
I have an epic water backpack, and 1 uncommon backpack for water, forest (@acidyo, note that on the capture cards this class is called grass and on the bicycle it's called forest!), and electric, which will be useful to carry things.
And then I also got a few bicycles this time around. 2 of them holo and one epic. They are for water and forest classes, so none for electric.
I think next comes that event and achievement Acid hinted about, but what I'm waiting for is to play around with the game.😁
With the crypto market (especially non-bitcoin) undecided whether it can push higher on a longer term or capitulate, a good game would be a nice distraction and potential reason for excitement where few others can influence sentiment so easily.
Yep they level up when fighting savage creatures... Not too bad starters though
Yes, I got lucky-ish with 2 or 3 of them. Overall, it's probably average, but hard to tell.
It doesn't seem like the worst opening, and good luck on the game. Trying to play the economy sometimes just relies on luck. It's going to be interesting to see what happens with the cards that don't have such great stats. I am guessing there will be some type of recycling system if you can't combine cards.
When RNG is involved, yes. Otherwise, maybe not so much.
Good point! Maybe they can be used for testing various things/scenarios. I think they also get tired or something, and you could use a creature with bad stats when others are in cooldown. But if none of these apply, I believe they will be dumped at minimum prices, as soon as there will be a market.
I like how you shared your experience with the Alpha vials and the way you explained the rewards and game strategy. It’s nice to see your excitement for the upcoming events, especially with how the crypto market keeps changing.
Well, I've come to terms with the state of the market and have an opinion about where it's going, but at the same time a good game is one type of distraction that prevents us from being connected to them (the markets) all the time. So, I believe it would be exciting, yes, especially for people who haven't gotten many wins this "cycle".
