Since yesterday, Holozing Alpha vials—which can still be purchased in-game for a while—are openable, after a long building process of the game, in good part due to the hard market conditions, especially for alts, uncommon this late in what was previously considered the bull market part of the cycle. Note that the game itself hasn't been opened to public yet, but Acid mentioned some time ago that it will, soon(ish?) after pack openings, for holders of at least one pack (or their contents, I suppose).
If you have some Alpha vials, you can go open them right now if you want. When deciding how many packs to open for the time being it could be a factor in your decision to know that rewards for creatures and items haven't been activated yet, and from Discord we learn they will be in a few days. After that point, collection rewards will be distributed 50/50% between unopened packs and creatures and items you hold. Right now it's still 100% rewards for unopened packs.
But... the process of opening alpha vials is worth it. I've read some complains about the mobile experience needing to be improved, but I opened my vials from my laptop, and you can see they put some effort into the animations and effects.
It's worth to see them, rather than a few images, but that's all I have for you.
Here's how it looks a static frame screenshot from the animation before opening the Alpha vial:

Looks cool, but it's also quite resource-heavy for those who mind that. I still love to see it attempted in a Hive game! They probably will need to find a story or an explanation (if there is one provided, I am not aware) about how did this:

turn into a cube.😉
I opened 2 of my 7 Alpha vials for now, since I have a pretty tight ZING-related goal in the LP and time is running out quickly, so I might not afford to miss on a few days of rewards. After that, I will probably open the rest.
I like the idea of showing the card from the side until you click to reveal it. Like many, I still don't understand some of the elements shown on the cards, but that will come. But before I talk about that, let's see what I've pulled from my two Alpha vials.
This is the first one:

And this is the second one:

And now the questions I've had at first hand:
- my Walle doesn't have good stats, but is it a diamond creature? seems like it from the frame.
- my Zappit is quite bad at its stats too, but is it a radiant creature? Still not sure how to distinguish radiant from regular creatures.
Then, when you turn your cards, for creatures and I think for empty capture cards too, it shows the front of the card, and then the back. What's on the back of the card?
Now, regarding my pulls... My creatures aren't great so far. The biggest synergies I have for Walle so far, even though it wouldn't probably be my favorite creature, but I have 1 gold capture card which works for any creature type and 5 epic capture cards for water. Then, I have an epic Ocean Starter Gloves, with the other being for Forest, for which I don't have a creature yet. The problem is the Backpack is for Forest, so I either need another Backpack for the class I'll end up using first, or I'll need Wrackoo to come up in one of the following vials.
The other thing to consider is that I may have capture cards and ammo, but I don't have a capture device yet. Without one, there's no capturing, regardless of class.
Hard to figure out where I stand before I open the other Alpha vials. Right now... I'd say not great. But things can improve. There will be the 3rd party market to trade what you don't need for what you need.
I've seen a few much better creatures. But at the same time, others opened many more vials already.
Have you opened any? How do you stand?
Diamond foil Walle is quite lucky, only 2% chance for the diamond card with a creature inside. (2% for diamond empty cards as well, but you won't be able to capture one of the 4 starters in the game - or switch what creature you have in what card) You also have 2 empty fire type cards in case you didn't notice! (you didn't mention it in the post when you mentioned the water cards)
Zappit is not radiant, the radiant version is slightly more yellow!
About your forest items, those are only required for your forest healer class, you're not forced to have to use Wrackoo with the forest healer, but it will provide a small synergy - i.e. not the end of the world if you don't get wrackoo, forest healer and water creature can have a nice synergy too since healer synergy provides both a boost to your grass/bug creature but also a small defense/resistance against grass/bug creatures, meaning your water creatures will be a bit less susceptible vs grass and bug if you plan on leveling them "the hard way" which gives you the highest rarity score upgrade boost upon level up.
I was pretty sure about the Walle that it was diamond foil, but not sure at all about Zappit. Seems like I'll need to see more of them to distinguish the radiant version.
The class is determined by the healer, right? If we won't have healers until later, for the initial public access for holders of alpha vials (if that's still planned) what class will we have? Or we will have a default healer to use of a certain class? And all progress in-game to be reset when beta arrives, if I remember well.
Either way, congrats to you and the team for what I've seen so far! I'm looking forward to the game.
Unlucky vials it seems 😅 I will wait for the rewards changes to open mine, then let's see if I cheer or blasphem around lol
Lol! I'd like better pulls, but won't get mad if they won't be.
I didn't buy any alpha vials, but I think its dependent on what you want from the game. Do you want to actively play it or do you consider it as an investment.
I think I'll actively play... to the extent of available time.😃 It sounds like a game I would like.
Game interest occurs when we buy a lot of things in it and keep improving the game. People are always happier with new things.
Someone can build an interest in a game by building it from scratch with minimum or little investment, just because they like it. Holozing seems to be that kind of game where a big investment won't be necessary, but it would help.
The Holozing Alpha vials seem like a cool feature, and it’s nice to hear about your experience with the game. The visuals look great too — hope your next pulls bring even better rewards.
Yep, I'm anxious to see what the rest of the vials has in store for me. Hopefully, something nice! :)
