It's time to sweep!

Hey guys, how are you? I'm doing great and super happy because I absolutely love how this scene turned out! It's a bit of redemption for how ugly Cinelara turned out in my first Zingtober drawing—this time you can really see her in all her glory. Although I just realized I didn’t draw her wings… but let's pretend they’re invisible because they’re transparent and move too fast!

🔅 Tenth Prompt: Sweep

For this prompt, I wanted to draw a character I hadn’t drawn until now: the great crystal turtle, Gemino. Again, I went for a cute scene—Gemino resting while Cinelara flutters around, sweeping away dust from everything in her path.

🧠 TOOLS USED:

Photoshop (as always, my digital salvation).
Brushes: my trusty brush pack, with a few new ones featuring glitter effects
Resolution: 2048x2400 px

⏰ CREATIVE PROCESS

✏️ Phase 1: Ibis Paint for Sketching

Starting from just a few circles and sticks, I gradually shaped the structure of the characters. I’ve known for days that this would be the perfect scene for this prompt, so all I had to do was focus on polishing the sketch little by little to accurately bring the characters to life.

🎨 Phase 2: Lineart

When working on the line art, I focused on drawing the crystals on Gemino's shell. At first, they were smaller, but to save time, I resized them to a larger scale so they would cover more surface area, making them more eye-catching. I also modified Cinelara's shape to make her look more dynamic.

🌗 Phase 3: Ink

I painted the characters using pressure opacity so that the cross-hatched strokes would be visible—I’m really liking the textured, imperfect effect you can achieve this way. Similarly, I painted the crystals using the Multiply blend mode to give them a translucent appearance.

🌟 Phase 4: Final Touches

Even though Cinelara sweeping while flying might seem like the main focus, what really catches the eye are Gemino’s crystals. So, I used the Color Dodge blend mode to make them glow—painting all their edges and adding small white reflections on their surface. But to keep the shine from being limited to just the crystals, I also gave Cinelara a soft glow here and there, so she wouldn’t be left in the dark.
