Hi lovelies, how are you all doing today? It's another beautiful day to enjoy and make it count. For today I will be showing you how I sculpted the panyin holozing fanart. I started working on this project for a week now, I was able to finish it a day ago and only got the chance to share it today.
Should I say this was another tough one? Or easy one? I'm not so sure cause at the beginning it looked quite easy to sculpt but along the line some part of the fanart seemed complicated so I had to abandon it for a few days and figure out how to finish it later. The greater work was in the face region, trying to get the sculpture to look like the original fanart was a little bit challenging but after the whole process I felt absolutely proud of myself and my work.

Oh I will say I just love this piece, I wouldn't call it is my best cause the best is still yet to come but sculpting panyin gave me more insight to the do's and don'ts of sculpting, shapes and structures. I think I learnt something new in every sculpture I make, and this was another learning ground for me.
Stay with me as I take you through the process of my sculpting

My Steps
Sphere! Spehere! Sphere! Lol, I always start my sculpting using a sphere, then transform them to my desired shapes and patterns. As seen in the collage, I started with the head, then the panyin's ears and followed suit with the arms, body and legs. It took me days to figure out how to get a perfect dice shape on the body but I'm glad I came to an understanding how to go about it.

In this collage, different frames shows the different progress I made, I worked on the details on its face, the hair, the eyes and then started my painting process as well. It's always my best part of the entire work

Here we have different shades of my panyin sculpture. You will notice the changes in its eyes for the different frames, where the darker (black) portions of the eyes were more visible then where the lighter (white) portions overshadowed the dark parts. This particular effect gave a different look to the panyin.
The former made the panyin seem happy and excited, while the later made the payin look a little grumpy and mischievous hehehe. This was just my observation, since I couldn't pick my favourite outlook of the payin so I left both processes intact, let me know which you like best, the grumpy payin or the happy one?
