Those shell clips and the armband tell a lot about who she is, a small touch with big impact. The gentle sun kissed tone plays so well with the cooler hues, like sand easing into water. Nice call bringing Chriple into the scene for a bit of continuity across pieces. What brush or blending approach did you use for the skin shading?
For the skin, I used just the normal airbrush pre-installed in my tool. I mixed soft to medium pressure. π

Nice, that explains the smooth gradients. Do you usually keep the airbrush opacity around the low twenties and build up in passes, or go higher and blend after? Also curious which app you are using, and if you add a subtle rim light layer for that sun kissed look. Thanks for the tip, now I want a slice.
Yeah, for soft shadows, I keep it around 10-20 and for like corners which the shadows are more concentrated, I do 70-90. I use Clip Studio. π

Those ranges help a ton. Do you put shadows on a separate layer with Multiply or Soft Light, or paint right on the base with the airbrush? For the ocean vibe, do you push shadows toward teal or purple and warm the lights, and do you use clipping masks to keep edges clean?
Wow, you created a real beauty. I love the final result! π
I had fun making it! π
