Hello everyone, my name is Lorentm, and I’m thrilled to welcome you once again to my art blog. Today, I’m excited to share a digital artwork inspired by one of the characters from @holozing. I’ve been eagerly participating in their special inktober event, Zingtober, and I couldn’t wait to bring this idea to life for Day 11.
Hola a todos, mi nombre es Lorentm y me emociona darles la bienvenida una vez más a mi blog de arte. Hoy estoy feliz de compartir una obra digital inspirada en uno de los personajes de @holozing. He estado participando con muchas ganas en su inktober especial llamado Zingtober, y no podía esperar para dar vida a esta idea para el día 11.
The prompt for today is “Sting,” and the characters I chose are the male Ocean Healer and Arachlythe. From the very beginning, I felt a spark of excitement because these characters carry a unique energy. Ocean Healer has such a striking design that immediately inspired me to create a scene full of tension and emotion.
La palabra clave de hoy es “Sting”, y los personajes que elegí son el Healer oceánico masculino y Arachlythe. Desde el primer momento sentí una chispa de emoción, ya que estos personajes tienen una energía muy especial. Ocean Healer posee un diseño tan llamativo que me inspiró de inmediato a crear una escena llena de tensión y emoción.
While I was brainstorming ideas, I was reminded of the iconic scene from the Spider-Man movie, where the spider bites Peter Parker. That moment of surprise, uncertainty, and transformation felt perfect to reinterpret with these characters. It’s a fusion of admiration for classic stories and my love for fantasy worlds.
Mientras buscaba ideas, recordé la icónica escena de la película de Spider-Man, donde la araña pica a Peter Parker. Ese momento de sorpresa, incertidumbre y transformación me pareció perfecto para reinterpretarlo con estos personajes. Es una fusión entre mi admiración por las historias clásicas y mi amor por los mundos fantásticos.

The male Ocean Healer has a strong but kind presence. His hair is wild and voluminous, giving him a spirited look that fits perfectly with his adventurous personality. He wears a hoodie that reflects a casual and modern vibe, contrasting with the intense moment captured in this illustration. His expression shows focus and slight nervousness, highlighting the tension of the scene.
El Healer oceánico masculino tiene una presencia fuerte pero amable. Su cabello es rebelde y voluminoso, dándole un aire lleno de energía que encaja perfectamente con su personalidad aventurera. Viste una sudadera con capucha que transmite un estilo moderno y casual, en contraste con la intensidad del momento capturado en esta ilustración. Su expresión refleja concentración y un leve nerviosismo, destacando la tensión de la escena.
He’s holding a camera tightly, his finger ready to press the shutter, completely immersed in what’s happening. Dangling from his hand is Arachlythe, a small but striking spider-like creature. Its sharp little legs and piercing gaze give the sensation that something unexpected is about to happen.
Sostiene la cámara con fuerza, su dedo listo para presionar el obturador, completamente concentrado en lo que sucede frente a él. Colgando de su mano está Arachlythe, una pequeña pero impactante criatura con forma de araña. Sus patitas afiladas y su mirada penetrante transmiten la sensación de que algo inesperado está a punto de ocurrir.
The background is simple yet dynamic, composed of diagonal lines and halftone patterns to emphasize movement and emotion. This visual language is reminiscent of comic book aesthetics, which perfectly aligns with the inspiration behind this piece.
El fondo es sencillo pero dinámico, con líneas diagonales y patrones de semitono que enfatizan el movimiento y la emoción. Este lenguaje visual evoca la estética de los cómics, lo que encaja perfectamente con la inspiración detrás de esta obra.
Process / Proceso
I started this piece with a rough sketch, laying down the basic composition and pose. This first step is where the energy of the drawing is born. I focused on giving Ocean Healer a determined yet tense expression, while carefully positioning Arachlythe so that the interaction between the two felt natural and cinematic.
Comencé esta obra con un boceto sencillo, trazando la composición básica y la postura. Este primer paso es donde nace la energía del dibujo. Me concentré en darle al Healer oceánico una expresión decidida pero tensa, y al mismo tiempo ubiqué cuidadosamente a Arachlythe para que la interacción entre ambos se sintiera natural y cinematográfica.
Once the sketch was clear, I moved on to the line art. This stage is one of my favorites because the drawing begins to gain structure and personality. I used clean and sharp lines to highlight the character’s features and the details of the camera. Arachlythe’s legs were especially fun to define, giving it a sense of movement and menace.
Una vez que el boceto estuvo claro, pasé al delineado. Esta etapa es una de mis favoritas porque el dibujo comienza a tener estructura y personalidad. Utilicé líneas limpias y marcadas para resaltar los rasgos del personaje y los detalles de la cámara. Las patitas de Arachlythe fueron especialmente divertidas de delinear, ya que aportan movimiento y un toque amenazante.
For the coloring, I decided to keep a grayscale palette to stay true to the inktober style. I carefully applied tones to distinguish the depth and material of each element. The hoodie, hair, and skin were treated differently to give them their own textures and weight.
Para el coloreado, decidí mantener una paleta en escala de grises para conservar el estilo de inktober. Apliqué cuidadosamente los tonos para diferenciar la profundidad y el material de cada elemento. La sudadera, el cabello y la piel fueron trabajados de forma distinta para darles texturas y pesos únicos.
Then came the shadows, which are crucial for setting the mood. I used strong contrasts to give the scene a dramatic and comic-like feeling, especially around the eyes and the folds of the clothing. This helped accentuate the intensity of the moment.
Luego llegaron las sombras, que son fundamentales para establecer el ambiente. Usé contrastes fuertes para darle a la escena una sensación dramática y estilo cómic, especialmente en el área de los ojos y los pliegues de la ropa. Esto ayudó a acentuar la intensidad del momento.
The highlights were added next, giving volume and life to the piece. A small sparkle on the camera lens and subtle glows on the hair and face made everything feel more dynamic. This stage is where the drawing truly starts to shine.
Después agregué los brillos, dando volumen y vida a la obra. Un pequeño destello en la lente de la cámara y brillos sutiles en el cabello y el rostro hicieron que todo se sintiera más dinámico. Esta etapa es cuando el dibujo realmente comienza a brillar.
Finally, I completed the background. I opted for halftone patterns and comic-style lines to enhance the storytelling. The simplicity of the background allows the characters to stand out and conveys a sense of movement and tension, just like in the iconic Spider-Man scene.
Finalmente, completé el fondo. Opté por patrones de semitono y líneas de estilo cómic para reforzar la narrativa. La simplicidad del fondo permite que los personajes destaquen y transmite una sensación de movimiento y tensión, tal como en la escena icónica de Spider-Man.

Creating this illustration was a truly enjoyable experience. I loved blending the essence of a familiar scene with characters I admire from @holozing. It was exciting to experiment with grayscale tones and a comic-inspired layout that pushed me out of my comfort zone.
Crear esta ilustración fue una experiencia realmente divertida. Me encantó mezclar la esencia de una escena conocida con personajes que admiro de @holozing. Fue emocionante experimentar con tonos en escala de grises y un estilo inspirado en los cómics que me sacó de mi zona de confort.
Every brushstroke felt meaningful, and I’m very happy with how this piece turned out. I hope it inspires others to join the Zingtober challenge and explore their creativity. A huge thank you again to @acidyo and @holozing for supporting my work and the entire community.

The tools I used for the drawing were the following:
- Android tablet.
- Capacitive pen (Stylus).
- Ibis Paint X program.
- Brushes: Pencil, Airbrush, Fuzzy, Marker.
